H. Kent on East Washington street with Mr.. Carrie Rice and Mrs. George Wimborough assistant hostesses. After the demonstration the hostesses served a plate luncheon. Special guests were: Mrs. I.ee Talor, Mrs. I) S. Whitaker, Miss May Reynolds, Miss Grace Trotter, of this r;tv, and Mrs. Karl LaFollette, of Darlington. At the last meeting "Rice and its Cooking" was the subject of the interesting and instructive demonstration given by Miss Reba Smith, also of Purdue university. BIRTHDAY ANNIVERSARY. The thirteenth birthday of Miss Velva Whitehead, which occurred yesterday was celebrated last evening when ten of her girl friends called at her home on North Meridian street, and brought with them refreshments Miss - W hitehead was remembered with a number of lovely gifts. After tl,e supper which was served buffet style tiie girl attended tbe basketball game. WERE ENTERTAINED. The beautiful home of Rev. and Mrs. C. A. Parkin, 209 South East street, was decorated with many pink and white blossoms and sprays of greeneiy, for the marriage of their daughter, Miss Marian, and l.ieut Dana Carlin Lambert of the 344th Infantry, of Camp Grant, Rockford. 111., which was solemnized this morning at 10:30 o'clock. Only the relatives and a few intimate friends were guests for the ceremony, which was I pronounced by the bride's father. Hefore the reading of the service the , bride's sister, Miss Florence, sang, "I Love You Truly" and "At Pawning' and the Bridal Chorus from Lohengrin was played by Mrs. Earl W. Wills of Indianapolis. The bride wore - her traveling suit and the groom was attired in the uniform of his regiment. i l.ieut. Lambert has taken his bride : for a wedding journey to Chicago ;and points near that city after which they will go to Rockford, 111., for residence until the groom is ordered elsewhere for military duty. The out-of-itown guests were: Mr. and Mrs. John R. Lambert of Coatsburg. III., parents of the groom: Mrs. Frank II. Herman, n Quincy, Iil., the groom's grand- ' mother; Mr. and Mrs. Harry (1. MISTAKE CORRECTED. In yesterday's paper through a typographical error the M. P. church of Milledgeville is given a credit for a donation of eleven dollars and sixtytwo cents to the Comfort Kit fund. This amount was donated by the Ladies' Aid Society of the church, the Sunday school giving ten dollars. A donation of one dollar has also been received from Arch B. Armstrong. MARRIED TODAY. This morning at 10 o'clock at the Farmer's State bank, the Rev. Homer Dale officiating occurred the marriage of Miss Purla Hall of near Lebanon, and Ur Allen, of Indianapolis.
