NEWS STORIES AND GOSSIP FROM THE H00SIER CAPITAL (B Me aleraollsaul 'cire gcrrtw.t INDIANAPOLIS. Ind., Nov. 11 Evans Woollen, state fuel administrator for Indiana today met with the county administrators from neuilj every county in the state to discuss the work they shall do this w inter. Mr. Woollen's olTcc organization is practically complete, although he has been in office but a short time. The county administrators have had an opportunity to familiarize themselves with the situation in their county. The entire machinery, except for a few pieces, is now greased for fa t action. Coal prices at the mines are fixed by the government. Federal investigators are now working in Indiana to discover if through any fake means tliea uiiit-s aiebiiiK iiH.ita.nl. Mi. Woollen haa told the coal jobbers that they are practically out of a job thair profit i limited to fifteen cents . ton and under the administration oi : his force they will get this comm sion on very little coal that goes to consumers. The retailers are given to understand what tiiey must sell coal for. If they extort too high prices their supply will be stopped by Woollen. So ihe coal situation in the state has devolved itself into a problem of campaign against fraud and a problem of distribution and production. With the highest wages in history now granted them, the miners will stay at work, according to union heads. If the railroads ran supply cars, it is believed that the people of Indiana can be furnished enough coal this winter to fairiy well supply their needs.
