BI-WEEKLY MEETING. Regular Session of the W. C. T. lT. Held Yesterday. The regular bi-weekly meeting of the W. C. T. U. was halil yesterday afternoon at the home of Mrs. Esba Armstrong on East Main strict with a large number of members present. The devotional semce was in charge of the president, Mrs. Harry Hamilton; Mrs. Kriel, superintendent of evangelistic work, led an interesting discussion on she subject; a vocal duet, "All Give to Jesus," was given hy Mrs. R eat ha Henderson and Mrs. Maggie Dale; Mrs. Susan Adney gave reading, "Mother's Hour;" Mrs. t.aura Wagoner gave a reading, and Mrs. Hamilton gave a review of the departmental work. During the short business session, .Mrs. Lafayette Wilson was elected flower mission superintendent and Mrs. 0. B. Stephenson. ! sunshine superintendent. Husintss Men Asked to Display Flags on Occasion of V . K. I', Meeting. Tomorrow the twenty-sixth district convention of the' Woman's Relief Corps will be held in this city at the Odd Fellows hall, at which time th? citizens of Lebanon and especially the business men are asked to display th? (lag in honor of the occasion. The Woman's Relief Corps has done much for their country and it is only fitting that on this occasion the people of the city respond and display "Old Cinry." A number of visitors from Crawfordsville. Noblesvilla and Sheridan will be present among which will be the district president, Mrs. Emmn Sidntr, of Crawfordsville; the district secretary, Mrs. Etta Houk Quick and the inspector, Mrs. Myrtle Moore, of NoMesviHe. 'The Italian in America and What We Can do ForJIim" was the subject of the program Tiven yesterday at the meeting of t';a Woman's Missionary society of the First Baptist church hold at the church. Mrs. Roy .Seal opened the program by telling of the conditions of the Italian army in his own. country and the reasons that prompted his immigration; Mrs. R H. Kent discussed the "Italian Settlements in America;" Mrs. Daisy Riley followed with the devotional hour, her topic being, "Spiritual Power." The program was concluded with two instrumental numbers by Mrs. H. G. Brown. A splendid donation of canned frui: wns brought by the lalies, sisty cans being received, This lonation will be sent Monday to Rev. and Mrs. Thayer of Arizona, mission aries among the Hopi Indians. For the benefit of those who wish to' donate fruit to this cause and were unable to be present at the meeting yesterday, donations will be received Sunday at the church and on Monday the articles will he packed and sent to Rev. and Mrs. Thayer. Opening Meeting Later V 'I He Lectire by Mr, Hrnwa. The opening meeting of the Magazine club was held Thursday afternoon at the home of the president, Mrs. Ivory C. Telle, , on West Chicago street with Mrs. R. E. Wiiliams assistant hostess. The subject for the year's work will be France. Yesterday Jean Jacques Rousseau the "Man of Feeling" Var the topic, two of his writings, ' the "Confessions" and "Emile's Journal" were given by Mrs. Mary Flickinger and Miss Jean Morris. Preceeding the program there was a business period and at thi. time the members made arrangements for an cpen meeting to be held on the evening of October 25 at the home of Mrs. B. F. Coombs, at which time the husbands of the memb-rs will be special guests. The program for the evening will consist of a talk on "The French Alps and the Pyrenees" (illustrated) by Mrs. Dcmurrtius Brown, of Indianapolis. In keeping with tbe idea of food conservation the club has for this year discontinued the serving of a lunch at any of the meetings.
