HELD BY THE RED CROSS OCTOBER 23
In anticipation of National Conservation week which occurs October '21 to 28 inclusive, and because of an utter lack of funds to pursue its most Important work, the Red Cross society of Lebanon announces a community rummage sale for Tuesday, October 2:ird, the place of holding the sale to be announced later. A meeting was held last night for the purpose of determining how to get money to pursue the Red Cross work, and the ladies who represented every church and ontaniiation in Lebanon almost, with one accord decided upon a community rummairo sale as the best means of raising money, and every one in Lebanon and vicinity will thus have an opportunity of helping. There are rummage sales and rummage sales, but this one is to be different, in that there will be some element of sacrifice in the donations offered. Generally speaking the artlrlei donated to a rummage sale includes Fuch things an may be found in attics or cellars things to be given without any thought of sacrifice, lhjt this Red Cross Community Sale is to be composed of rumi-age, much of which is to bo donated with some d.'iirce of sacrifice nml sympathy. The sympathy will be twofold-sympathy for th-se who buy, and who because of large families and the high cost of living find a rummage sale a great .Man Who "Borrow cii" a Traction ( ar Placed I nrier Thousand Dollar Bond.
