Twenty-five cows twenty fresh Jersey cows and five head of springers. Every one of this lot of cows" is first class. They can be se;n at the Lebanon fair grounds after Wednesday, October 3. They are all of good ages and come from the very best milk strain of Washington county. These cows all have calves by side. It howi all of the fighting zones and the battle lines on each of them, illustrating the gains and losses of the belligerenU. The company from which the map rs obtained puts a new one out each week, each showing the important military events on all fronts. A new one will be placed in the window of the Trust Company every week. Those which have been displayed will he given to the public schools.
Mrs. I.aura Stonecipher of Zionsville, wife of Professor Stonecipher, is seriously ill with heart trouble at her home. Her condition this morning waa slightly improved over last evening. Mrs. Stonecipner has many friends here, who will regret to hear
of her illness. For eeveral years ahe haa been an active member of the Tsarist e!ub of this city but mrinff te her illnesa ahe will be inactive this year.

B. & C. railroad, the government has established an automobile mail line between Portland and several towns. HUNTINGTON, September 29. A story started maliciously to discourage Red Cross work has been hotly denied here. It was to the effect that a soldier who ultimately received a sweater knit by a local woman was forced to pay $5 for it. It is absolutely untrue. COLUMBUS, September 29. A military company ahs been organized in the Columbus high school. Over 100 boys have enrolled for drill work. SHELBYVILLE, September 29. The want ad is a great thing. Rev. IJ. O. Coy to Preach at Mt. Olivet Christian church Sunday. Rev. D. O. Coy, pastor of the Old Union and Fairview churches in this county, will go to Spencer, Owen county today, to fill the pulpit of the Mt. Olivet Christian church near that place tomorrow. Rev. Coy was pastor there nine years before coming to Iebanon.
