The newest thing out is a selfstarter for a horse. Ernest Bmrth, residing west of Lebanon, has four-year-old horse, wnich has Hiways lieen Immune to tha lash 6t a whip, and hasalways refused to budge unoer the most persistent and atrennoua efforts of it owner. Mr. Smith went to a veterinary and told him that he had a horse ifcat was perfectly healthy hut that "he couldn't ever seem to get him started." The veterinary told him that possibly electricity might help some, and for Smith to attach a shocking machine to his harness. Smith went down to the Airhart garage on South Lebanon street and interviewed Fverett Jones, master electrician. Everett said "that's easy," and immediately rigged up an apparatus for the refractory equine. It consists of three batteries to put in the buggy, with wire attachments running out through the harness to the horse's ears. Now all that Smith has got to do is to press a button in his buggy and a high tension current strikes his horse on both cars. Results from the experiment are wat.hed with interest, for it may mean the bankruptcy of the buggy whip trust Civil War Regiment Survivors to Meet in Frankfort September 19.
