All of the American wounded will be treated in France and none will be sent to the United States, according to the present plans of the officers in charge of the first expeditionary force. The closest co-operation between the army medical corps and the Red Cros is already assured. The health of the Sammies continues unusually good. A medical report Just issued shows but 2 Hi per cent sickness in camp compared with n average of 5 per cent while the icn were back home. The ailments that have made their appearance are trivial. They include mostly mumps. neasles and colds. The thortage of the personnel of the ncdical corps is noticeable. Tit re is ut one medical officer with eleven assistants for every 800 men. For the ;ame number of men in the French irmy there are two French medical rtirers and 37 assistants. Both the British and French had the ame difficulty at the beginning of the war, but soon remedied it. The Ainenrana plan to handle their wounded after the same fashion as the French. The army medical corps will lake care of them at the stations inlide of the army none. After temporary treatment is given, the men will be turned over to the Red Crosy itul taken to the base hospitals. Just at present the Ked Cross is facing the need of making big expenditures foi iiuantuies of equipment for handling the wounded and sick. RACING PROGRAM. The demand was very good from outside sources and there was a fair clearance at prevailing pricea. The extreme top waa 117, being steady with yesterday, but the hogs that sold at f 16.SM) were 5c to If higher and others at S15.75$lo.85 which were the . strongest weights were only 10c higher. CATTLE Receipts of 450 cattle were small even for Friday market and this aided salesmen in making a very good clearance at prices that were again more or less higher. The advance, compared with last Monday, has been from 26c to 75c, and there as been a gain of 25c to II as compared wiht weew ago. LEBANON Still Wrestling With Exemption Claims No Anouncement Yet. The county exemption board is still wrestling with the problem of choosing men for army service. It is a big task ar.d the board members are investigating each case as thoroughly as possible. It was announced today that the board had no information to give out as to who had been accepted and as to those exempted. It is likely that a list of men chosen for the army from the over 300 examined will be given out for publication tomorrow or Wednesday. PERSONAL MENTION.
