OF BONDS REDUCED Revision of Large Subscriptions Made by Federal Reserve liank. W. J. DeVol, chairman of the Boone county Liberty Loan omanb.ation, received word from the federal reserve link of Chicago yesterday giving a revised statement of the allotment of bonds to this county. The total allotment for all of the banks is $I'-!V . All of this amount except $11.'IfK) which went through other sources to the reserve bank, went through the organization here. T!e reduced allotments of large subscriptions does not affect the individual subscribers here, but the bank subscriptions will be reduced to sity per rent. I!" J ACK VEIOCK. il. the imriMlinnm Acir mr-lw.l NEW YORK. Jure 2S. Die Frank Schuite recently made his third move as a major Itufturr when he went to the Fhilues. He was sold to Philadelphia by PiHsliurgh for the waiver price of l.-M.1'), and according to alt reriorts. Pat Moran jumped at the chance to land him. 'V e say "0!e Frank" because V'l'ijitc is in his Ihiny-fiftii year. Whm a ball player passes the "three ion" maik he ij call a veteran, yet veteran that Schulte is, his services are still in demand. Early in the s-a.-on Schulte cmrked a floating lib 111 a wrestling match with one of his team mates. As a con-iouence he was out of the lineup ror a ti-ne and hi.-, hitting fc.il off. I n.mv Caim.an decided that he would sell Schulte and give semi of the voong buckos on the Pirates a chance to fill his shoes. When he asked for waivers. Pat Moran made a flying luckie and landed Schulte. whom he had tried to purchase from the Pi::es la-t winter. The con'iden..e shewn in Schulte by Moran indicates that he ftill ha." several years of major league baseball in his sstem, for Moran doesn't ti ke on flivvers, and has an uncanny habit of nicking off ball players who are cist aside by other clubs and moulding them into a winning maihirie. In all probability Schulte will take fhe place of Whittod or Cravath in the Philly outfield if he shows signs of stinging the ball in his old-time form. Schulte is a vet. but no U one of the old timers who hasn't lost the snap from his legs. He can still canter around the gardens and haul down the tough ones with ns much agility as many of the cumbersome Youngsters who come up every year. The fact that Cravath's legs have been tioiibling him makes Schulte an ns.-et to the Phillies, for Cravath can !e kept on the benrh if Schulte can fill the bill in the garden, and Cavvv's hitting will be enlisted in the pinches as u.-ual. Schulte was a team mate of Moron's on the old Cub champions and :iide from I'vers he is the only member of the Cub champions of pHUi who ii still fightin" off the lusty punches of Oh; Doc Time. CRABBING I'l HI.ICITY. !s"avo it to the actors, boxers, ball players and other folk in the public eve to grab nil the free publicity in sight and go fishing for more. The very latest nutf is the "enlistment gng.M In order to work the gag suceef . fuliy all one has to do Is announce that he Intends to enlist in the armv or navy, let the newspapers know of it and make a play to offer one", service, to cmt high otTtciiil in trnrj' or navy circlos and the thing is done. It's a einch perfect pine. Shortly after L'ncle Samuel to,sed bis Panama into the bull pen Jess Willard wired President Wilson that he was ready any time l'ncle Pamue1 needed him. Rut Jess hasn't enlisted yet. Benny lonard came next with the enlistment stuff and got a big play, nnd although Benny is one of ire many boxers Who mad similar .nnouncement, who appears to be thoroughly sincere he is mentioned

here because of the fact that he did not take a headlong jump into some recruiting office, as he might have done. Frank Timey, whether or not on his own initiative, was recently "enlisted" in the navy. His enlistment wu."; announced by a New York payer and the following day a canvais of '.'e recruiting stations failed to reon' any such naval rookie as Frank Tinnev. biack-facc comedian. DKns ' h"ror, B'tr, bull players and others have played tne enlistment gag. or have been induced to announce their intentions of enlifting by enterprising reporters, and it has become quite a fad. Hut Washington isn't taking the publicity game us a joke hy any means. The authorities at army and navy headquarters in the Capital City icctntly made it known that anybody wishing to enlist can do so without telegraphing Washington. Secretary Baker and Secretary Daniels have a few other things to do aside from answering personal telegrams to occupy their attention. YESTERDAY'S RESl'l.TS. AMERICAN ASSOCIATION.
