MARRIAGE YESTERDAY. The marriage of Miss Emma Florence Etchison of this city and James L. Shingler of St Louis, Mo., took place Wednesday afternoon at 4:00 o'clock at the Farmer's State Bank the Rev. Homer Dale officiating. Mr. Shingler is a railroad fireman with a run out of Lafayette. The couple will reside in this city, for the pre- sent. MOVE TO INDIANAPOLIS. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Rumbaugh who have been residing in Lebanon for several years left today for Indianapolis to make their home. The Rumbaugh millinery store on South l,ebanon street owned by Mr. and Mrs. Rumbaugh will be in charge of Miss Nettie Jones assisted by Mrs. Hinkie Parsons and Miss Erma Meadows. GAVE DINNER PARTY. Miss Leota Price entertained with a dinner party last evening at her home south of Lebanon in compliment to Miss Lail Newkirk. of Gary, house guest of Miss Alpha Perkins. Other guests with Miss Newkirk and Miss Perkins were the Misses Esther and Hazel Perkins and Miss Kitty Swails. REGULAR SOCIAL MEETING. The Star class of the First Christian Sunday school, taught by Mrs. Charles Miller, will hold their regular social meeting Friday evening at the homme of Miss Eva Hauser on Lafayette avenue. A "500" and Bridge Party Given For Benefit of the Red Cross. A profusion of American flans, emblems of the Red Cross society and baskets, wallpocketa and vase of Crimson Rambler roses and other burden flowers appointed the Elks' hall Wednesday afternoon for the delightful "500" and Bridge party given by the Fortnightly Embroidery club for the benefit of the Red Cross society. Thirty dollars was the amount cleared, the same to be turned over to the lioone county Red Cross chapter. After the games the priies were awarded, Mrs. Byron Jones receiving first prise in "50(1" and Miss Virginia Brown second. Mius Ruth Herdrick was awarded the first trophy for the high scrre in bridge and Mrs. Will J. Kelly received second. Following the awarding of the prizes Mrs. Roy Metayer, accompanied by Miss Ruth Perkins, pianist, sang a group of songs: "Till I Awake" (Sciler); "Sequildilla" from Carmen (Bezet) and "Inter Nos" ( Mt-Fayden). The pleasures of the afternoon were concluded with the solving of a plate luncheon, sweet peas being given as favors. A number of out-of-town ladies were present, the following from Frunkfort being guests of Mrs. Irwin Brown; Mrs. Fred Orear, Mrs. William Robinson, Mrs. Ralph Smith, Mrs. Dr. Ruddell, Mrs. Frank U. Coulter, Mrs. Oscar Laverty, Mrs. (iuy Bergen, Miss Louise Houston and Miss Ruth Brown. Miss Mary Moure and Mrs. A. R. Archey of Thorntown were guests with -Mrs. W. C. Loyal Woman's Clans of Christian Church Met Yesterday. The June meeting of the Loyal Woman's class of the Central Christian Sunday school was held Wednesday afternoon in the church vestry which attractive with many baskets of garden (lowers. Miss Corabell Honan played two piano numbers; Mrs. Emma Wade gave a reading, "Little Things"; Miss Allen sang, "Good Night"; little Miss Inei Swails gave a reading; Miss Elizabeth Martin of Crawfordsulle, accompanied by Misa Janice Coombs. sang and the Misses Mary and Inez Swails pliyed a piano duet The hostesses for the meeting were Mrs. Partner, Mrs. Valeria Kernodlc, Mrs. Wade, Mrs. Mary Hedge, Mrs. Sofie Cock, Mrs. Martha Ludlow and Mrs. Kernodle. Forty members of the class enjoyed the afternoon's program. JULY 19 CHOSEN. Time Arranged For Canning Demon stration of Cooking Club. July 19 is the time arranged for the canning demonstration to be given be fore the members of the Cooking Club. The demonstration will be in charge of Miss Alma I Garvin of Purdue university. The place and hour of the meeting will lie announced later. THIMBLE PARTY. Mrs. Byron Jones, Mrs. Clark Berry. Mrs. Ralph Goodwin and Miss Katherine Wilson, a bride-elect were the honor guests at a Thimble party given this afternoon by Mrs. Alva Martin and her sister. Miss Mary Gilmoro at the home of the former on Fordice street. Summer flowers converted the various rooms into a veritable garden and in the archway between the living room and dining room wns arranged a lattice intertwined with wisteria blossoms. Following the hours spent in needlework and conversation the hostesses, assisted by Miss Lucile 1 1 -more and Miss Dorothy Clark served a plate luncheon. Among the guests was Mrs. Clarence Fall of Indianapolis. Q!T ARTF.RI, V MEETING, The quarterly meeting of the Ben F. McKey Bible class of the M. E. Sunday sc' ,j was held yesterday af ternoon at the home of Mrs. George Q. Adams on East Superior street with section two of which Mrs. E. Thornherry had charge, hostesses. The regular program which is given at these social meetings was dispensed with yesterday and the hours spent in hemming towels for the boone county chapter of the Red Cross. During the afternoon a number of piano selections were given by Miss Pearl Adams. Late in the after noon the hostesses served light re freshments.
