Kftie McCuUom Jones, of Iowa, will speak from the pulpit of the Presby terian church of this city, under the auspices of the Woman's Franchise league. Dr. Jones, who is making a whirlwind troir of the state in the interest of suffrage, ia loaned to the people of the Nth congressional district for three day only, and Leb anon is given the honor of having her first. Large Placards Call Attention to Rev. 0. H. Carmichael's New Book. Attractive posters have been recelv. eI here advertising the work of 0. H. Cai-michael's "Lincoln' Gettaburg Address." One of them is on display ia the window of the Long and Davis Drug store. They are in the form of large placards and are printed In red and black ink. In the center of the posters are a picture of the atatue "Lincoln at Gettysburg." At the top is the dedication of the book "Dedicated to all those who love the great Lincoln and who believe that at Gettysburg he voiced the message of America to the world." At the sides of the picture and at the bottom are three statements, the first from Gov. Brumbaugh of Pennsylvania, "This volume ia so well written and shows such painstaking gare in its statements that 1 urge its reading by all lovers of liberty." The second is by ExGovernor Ralston, and i as follows. "The story of this 'American Psalm' ia as pure and in a style as simple as ever came from the pen of Addison." The statement at the bottom of the placard is from the New York Tribune. It reads, "Regarding the history of the Gettysburg address we are not likely to have more interesting information, or more lucidly or compactly presented than in this tasteful and authentic volume." FINE STRAWBERRIES. Box of I'nusually Large Berries Given to Red Cross to SelL Earl Adney exhibited at this office this morning a box of strawberries grown in the garden of his father-in-'aw. W. B. Kissell, East 49th street, Indianapolis, from vines furnished two ears ago by Mr. Adney. The variety is the "Pride of Michigan" and is exceptionally large and well flavored. The box of berries was donated to the lied Cross today by Mr. Adney who stipulated that it be sold to the highest-bidder. Mr. Adney himself led the bidding and D. L Creath who was present at the time promptly raised the bid to 76 cents. MACHINES COLLIDE. Autos Driven by Walter Cox and Bert Runge Met at Crossing. Walter Cox and Bert Runge wenparties in a Ford collision on South Lebanon street about 8:30 Sundayevening. Gov had started to turn around in front of Edwards' restaurant and was struck by Runge. Neither machine was coing fast. Both were slightly scarred and the Cox machine suffered a burst tire. MINOR COURTS. The ejectment suit of James and Lizzie Werts against Walter Carson, which was filed June 19, will be tried tliis afternoon at 5:00 o'clock before Justice of the Peace Trowbridge.
