Salesmen were successful in maintaining price on a steady level as compared with yesterday. There was lack of inquiries from outside sources and therefor local packers and killers were the main buyers. It did not take long to arrange prices, and the good hogs weighing from 100 lbs. upward sold from $15.60 to $1, but the bulk of the supply were hogs weighing from 170 to less than 225 lbs., and they sold at $15.60 to $15.90, and the extreme top for the day was 5c under yesterday. The week closed with prices for the bulk of the supply 40c higher than a week ago. Cattle Only 200 cattle arrived, but they proved to be fully as many as necessary to meet the requirements of buyers. As usual at thi a time in the week some of the principal buyers preferred not to take the cattle and carry them over until the first of next week, and as a result the marktt was dull and prices were weak compared with yesterday. The week closed with very little change on the strictly dryfed stock, while plain. to medium and grass-fed stock was quoted from 25c to 50r luwer than a wee kago. On a continued strong market thia mom ngi calves finished the week $1 higher ihan a week ago. Will Face Charge of Assault and Bat. tery With Intent. Henry Jones was arrested by Officer Hopkins when a call came from the home of Samuel Wilhoite. 1222 South Meridian streot that Jones was trying to break into the house. The call came about 1 o'clock this rooming Intoxicated and armed with a knife, Jones attempted to break into the house. When the officer attempted to arrest him Jones put up a fight but he was brought up town and placed in jail. He will probably be tried before Judge Parr Monday charged with assault and battery with intent. Jones not long ago was paroled from Michigan City prison where he was serving a term. FLAG DAY PROGRAM. Thursday night the local order of Elks held their annual Flag day exercises at the hall. The services were ritualistic, and were conducted by the officers of the lodge. "The History of the Hag" was the subject of a short address bf William 1. Wood. Alva Wyncoop read the "Elks' Tribute to the Flag." The assembled members of the lodge sang the Star Spangled Banner.
