There was a little outside demand for the strongest averages and the top price for the day was lfi,70, which wan 10c lower than yestenlay. There was an uneven loss in prices of underweights, they being generally quote. 2ac lower, so the general average loss of the day was a fraction moie than a dime under yesterday. CATTLE There were around 1,800 fresh cattle for the market, which is a good run for this time in the week. The principal feature of the trade was the continued discrimination against the grass fed plain to medium cattle and the favorable opinion of the strictly dry-fed cattle. There were not many heavy steers

on the, market, hut others on the yearorder, sold steady, while steer valued from $11 down were at least i'tc lower than a week ago. Cows and heifers that were the best also sold steady, but others were weak to lower and bulls sold steady for the good kinds.
