School Board Other Proceedings.

The city council met in regular ses

sion last with all member present.

A resolution was passed approving the primary assessment roll on the improvement of South West street

from South etreet to Dicks street el

lowing George T. Miller $9,819.85 for

the constuction of the same.

Kernodle 4 Miller presented construction contracts and bonds (or the impovement of Williams street from .West street to Meridian street by im

proving the gam? -with brick and for

the improvement of taat Williams

street from Par1- treet to Grant street

with cement ilcwalks, giving bond in the sum Of ViwtiO on West Williams

street and a .nd of SvOO on the im

provement of Bast Williams street

with George T. Miller and Harvey M

Coulter as sureties, and on motion of Councilman Ellis they wem approved

and ordered spread of record. City civil engineer Walter Whitecotton presented plans and specifica

tions for the improvement of East gouth street from Indianapolis avenue to Grant street with cement curb and gutter and on motion of Councilman

Guthon they were adopted. Councilman Guliion presented a res

Laura fipanswirk and eight others presented a remonctrance against the Improvenvefit of South Clark street

from the south line of Picks stri'et to (h aorth line of Noble street by the building of cement sidewalks and a resolution was passed overruling the

elerk to advertise for bids, to be received June 25. Councilman Ellis presented a resolu

tion which was passed, to vacate nn alley west ef North Lehaaon street between Essex street and Camps

street. Councilman Myers presented a res olution which was passed for the open

inches north of the northeast cornei of lot No. 13 in Julian's Subdivision

On motion of Councilman Myers the

city engineer was ordered to draw a plot of the opening of Flm street from

Lebanon street to Jameson street Job C. Perkins Re-elected.

On motion of Councilman Myers

John C. Perkins was reappointed a

member of the school board.

Councilman, Myers moved that the

street and alley committee report unfavorable on the improvement of Royal street from Lebanon street to

Lafayette avenue as heretofore peti

tioned for by George Poathumus and

a number of others. Councilman Ellis brought the mat

ter before the council in regard to

the city employing a weight and meas ore man, and asking the cither mem

bera of 'he city council to give the

matter d ie consideration. It will be

Tho city rounril at its session last night rr-nppointed John V. IVrluns s a member of the school board. Mr. Perkins has served a term of three yearn and his re-appointment is for h term of aimibir length. He has made a very painstaking member of the board, and his selection for another term is a deserved complitnent.
