APPROVED II Y PRESS. Stirring Words of French Premier Paused by Newspaper. I fly ll.f ;.ilri noiiwci tcnui.) PARIS, May 23. The stirring words of Premier Itibot at the openng of parliament met with complete lpprobation in the preaa today. That the press reflected the attitude of the public was made evident by expresions of approval from prsons in the stieets. France has made plain her poution n the wur. She is fighting to regain Msnce and Lorraine ai d to secure re paration from Germany for the inea wrought upon r ranee since the beginning of this war. A certain atmosphere of apprehen sion had marked the opening of the chamber of deputies OS it had been petted that numerous questions would be flung at the government on war matters. However, this feeling was quickly dispelled by the vigorous anil eloquent speech of the premier. All political factions have united in poorting the premier. M. Ribut made it plain that tho als feel some anxiety over the situ ation in Kussia, but the hope i ex pressed that the Russian government will win in its fight to continue the war until the entente powers are vig orous. It has been feared that the socialiats would take advantage of the socialis tic victory in Russia to heckle the government on that question, but tne fears were not juttified. CARRANZA'S ACTION.
