Indiana National Guard Com-1 punies to be Made Ready ! As Soon As Pcrisilile. i l IV ;lrriinll...W cir,.i INWAN'AI'OI.IS. Ind., May is. "We anticipate a call to the fedora! .service soon. We have no information as to when that call will come. Hut the Indiana National Guard must be ready when the call comes. F'nr that reason, we have telegraphed every uni in the state to recruit immediately to full war strength." This Was the aituation nf the Nat ional Guard as expressed by Adjut-nnt-Geuernl Many It. Smith today. Unofficial advices have placed the call at June la or August 1. The wheels already are moving for the mobilization. W ithin a few days the mobilization point will be definitely .elected. Cantonments will be built to house the guardsmen. It is violating no military secret to say hut the lack of tentage is Ihe cause of Oie delay. In the absence of any official statement from headquarters, guard officials believe that some of the regiments that were on the Mexican border and are fairly well eiUpped and recruited to near full strength, will lie called to the colors about June 15. The whole guard is not to be expected to be called out at one time. In Indiana, the Second regiment is already in service. The Thjrd regiment, which is well organized and pretty well equipped, is the logical choire for the n'-Tt rail. ON FOURTH OP JULY .Mayor Shelby Issues Decree Placing Ban on Nowy Celebrations.
