More has been accomplished in tht Manual Training department of the high school, which is in charge of Professor Voria Demaree, than hat erver Men before. Ovar two hundred students, including boye from th aixta grade to the Senior year of high achool, huva bean taking work under Mr. Demaree. Several porch swings have been irunle. Olon Simmons, who has just completed an oak dining room set, has perhaps turned out more fine work than cny other student in high achool. He has made two bedsteads, two dresaing tables, two library tables, a t ia wagon and tray, two large lounging chairs, davenport, writing desk, and a kitchen table. His work is of the highest order and will compare with any minufactured household furniture. The set which he has just completed consists of a large circular table with six upholstered chairs. All are made of fumed quartered oak. These as well as those of several of the other boys, were made from his own dtvigna. THB TRACK MEET. The Lebanon high school track team will leave this city for Lafayette tomorrow morning on an early car to take part in the Central Indiana track a.id Mid meet which is to be held on Stoart field, beginning at nine o'clock. In the afternoon Manley Immel, tabanon'S representative in the oratorical contest, will compete at the Jefferson high school building. Th schools which take part in the track meet and oratorical are Frankfort, Lebanon, Crawfordsville, Logansport, Noblesville, and Lafayette. Ticket for each event are twenty-five cents, and are on aale at the high achool building here. CLASS DAY EXERCISES. School will close at 2:30 this afternoon for the class day exercises given by the Seniors.' Pmal examinations, which are to be two hours in length, will begin Monday and close Tuesday evening, in the order of the -eight regular periods of the high school program. Ridgway, superintendent of the city water works, Charles Moore, chief of the fir department, and Charles McClain, who went to Columbus, Ohio, Wedneaday to visit the Seugrave Automobile Kile Tiuk Cuaiiwuy returned to this city last night. The men report a aplerdid trip and also a splendid demonstration. Wednesday afternoon was spent in going through the company's plant and seeing how the trucks are made. Ye&te.rday morn ing the rea!demonstration was given on the hanks of the river. This afternoon the same party left for South Bend where they will visit ths South Bend Motor Company to morrow and witnese a demonstration of that machine. Finch, daughters the sum of $500 each owing to the fact that she made her home with the daughters and all real estate to be sold and proceeds divided between Robert N. McNorton, Josephine L. Mitchell, Charles 0. McNorton, Ollie 0. Kelly anil Stsila E. Finch, and Cecil Iwia, son of Delia Lew is, John Jones is appointed executor. The will is dated September , l'.i 18 and witnessed by R. C. N. Cook and R. K. Williams. John W. Jones lualified as executor and gave bond for M)00. Other Probate Court. A. M. Stephenson, guardian of Annie N. Bu'Oi insane, who was guardian of minor heirs of John A. Bush and who has been removed, filed final report showing that as to Robert W. The lat legislature- enacted an amendment to the Fire Marshal law. affecting Chiefs of Fire Orrtmcnts as follows. "It shall be the duty of the chief of 'Jie lire department in each city of the firt. :.eeond, third and fourth class, in vhlition to his other duties, to inspect all buildings, premises and public thoroughfares, except the interiors of private dwellings, for the iiurposes of ascertaining and causing to be corrected any "nditjons liable to cause fire, or any nolaUons of any law or ordmsncc relating to the fire hazard or to the prevention of fires. Such inspection shall be made at least once in six month6 in all of the territory served by such department, and not less than once in three months in such territory as the city council shall have designated or may hereafter designate as within the fire limits or as a congested district subject to conflagration, and often-r as the chief of such fire department may order. The six months in-nud l,., 1 gin on the first days of January and July, and the three months Periods on the first days of January, April. July and October of each year. The chief of such fire departments in each city of th above classes, shall designate a sufficient number of men as inspectors to carry out the provisions of this art.
