Unless the government intervenes 42,000 bituminous miners in western Pennsylvania will go on strike May 15. The tentative agreement reached between the miners, representative: and the operators in Philadelphia was rejected today by the district conven tion here by a vote of two to one. An ultimatum to the operators demands 33H per cent wage increase and improvement of working conditions.
