The Rev. A. L. Ward to Give a Suerial Sermon on Sunday Evening.

Next Sunday evminn. Rev. A. L. Ward of the Central Christian church ill preach on, "Shall we go to War With Germany?" Rev. Ward's attention has been especially called to thin ky request that are being sent to all the ftudents of

Columbia t'nivernity. The govern ment ia aceking eact information concerning; every graduate of the university in recent years, and cpecifically aking the quextion that if in an emergency they would respond to the government's call. .Such inner were recently forwarded to Rev. Ward in reference to his son, Taul who is a graduate of the university. The war spirit is running high in New York and all the Kasl. On the tth o' this month there was a mass meeting of the students of the

university. At this meeting more than 500 students were present and -ign"d

application to join a Columbia training corn for re.-erved officers. The war spirit ran so high thai two anti-militarist students, one of whom was expelled from another NewYork institution several months ao for publicly criticising Major-general 1-eonard Wood, objected to the purpose of the meeting and attempted t" preach their doctrines. The two were set upon and ejected from the hall. The students who signed will drill for several months this spring, and a er manent Columbia corps will be established next fall, according to plan? announced. CKNTENARY M. E, CHIRCH. Charles A.
