GIVES TALK ON TWO ; era mm Bev. 0: H. Carmkhaei Addresses High School on WashingIon and Lincoln. A talg on Washington and Lincoln was made at the high srho.il this aiornIng by Rev. 0. H. Carmirhael. The orerestra played selections before and after the talk. The opening number "Old southern Melodies," and the concluding selection waa parts of the "Bohemian Girl. " The talk made by Mr. Carmichael waa probably' the best that has ben heard before the school this year. He i told of three incidents in the life I of each man which were representa' ' tive of their greatness. He related how Washington sacrificed everything for the patriot cause at tho heginninj I of the Revolution, how he refused to j become the k'ng of America, and how I he offered his services to his country : when he was an agrrt man at the time ' of the trouble with r rnnce during the j administration of Adams. Rev. COURT NEWS. The farmers State Bank of New Market has brought suit against L. Clay Sumpter, on note. Coffman was bound over to the circuit court under 300 bond to ksep the peace. The complainant is John Hewia. wko alleged that he feared Coffman would destroy or injury hfs property or do him bodily harm. In the ease of Ernest R. Stewart vs Josephine Brown et. al., to quiet title, judgment was rendered for the plaintiff. In the cases of Joseph W. Witt against the Palmer, McMuhan Furniture Co., to foreclose mortgage, Reginald Stewart waa granted leave to file a cross complaint In the case of Jennie Kurti et. al.. vs John Kurtz et. ai., for partition, judgment was rendered for partition. Asa Kurtz was appointed commissioner and his bond of 15,(X0 was approved. Cora A. Holmes has been granted a divorce from Lee O. Holmes, on lier cross complaint. She was given custody of the daughter, Stella May Holmes and granted an allowance of $') per week for the support .f the child, to be paid Tuesday of each week beginning rebmary zi. L Sellers and Son furniture company of Elwood aa traveling, salesman. Mr. Perkins has as bia territory: Tennessee, Louisiana, Alabama, Georgia and Florida. He left Sunday for Nashville, Te.ineasefe and will probably cover all his territory before he returns here. Mr. Perkins ia the son of J. C.
