Changed and amended in committee so much that the original bill is hardly recognisable, it was determined by leaders to brir.g the house Republicans tugether to consider the bill and to reach a caucus agreement. There will tie determined attacks on the bill, and it is feared its opponents may succeed in changing it so at to prevent Indiana from obtaining federal aid on road construction.

James Joseph and David Beard, sons of Pearl Heard were declared P iblic wards this morning by Judge Pit in the circuit court. The children were put in the custody of the Hoard of Children's Guardians of this county. J. W. Jones took them to the orphans' home at Crawfordsville this afternoon. .The attorneys for Mary D. Kline one of the defendants in the case of the Indiana Trust Company against trustee of the estate of the late Peter I.irber. which was tried in the circuit court here a few days ago and a decision rendered in favor of the plaintiff, have filed a motion to have the judgment modified. 'The motion ask that the last paragraph of the judgment which ia ngamst Mary P. Kline be struck out as she was not one of the principal defendants.

The motor ship Chile, which arrived today from Copenhagen, reported being held up and searched hy a German submarine on January 17 east of the Shetland Islands.
