Ten years ago tlie Maywodd Addition was a waste of ridges and sloughs. With its well known and often expressed faith in the future of this city hundreds of thousands of dollars were spent in street improvements. At its suggestion Maywood Park was purchased. The new Industrial High School was built at one end of this park and the Lyndora Hotel at- the other. Now the sub-division is practically absorbed. It has developed as

its architects planned it. It is now the place of residence of Hundreds of happy contented home-owning citizens. It is an element of stability in this community that can not be over estimated. Its orderly development is due to the unswerving determination to create beauty and orderliness where chaos and unguided city building threatened squalor and con-

fusi

sion.

In Maywood there are perhaps a dozen lots north of the park. In the Hammond Realty Company additions north of Maywood, principally on May street, there are twenty to thirty sites left. In Maywood, south of the park, there are about twenty sites left. In McHie's Addition on Roosevelt and Wilcox streets there are fifteen sites left.
