Atlthough the Hustlers had Powley, the former Hammond high school star, it made no difference to the Indian five. The Indians, before the game, stared a war dance. the medicineman was all dressed in his outfit. The Indian" five went to Chief fchoot-em-basket. He said. "We win by six scalps." The battle started, Frank Douglas, the Indian mentor, was as happy as ever could be. starting out was Powley, be sunk two in a row. Then Fromroe, Du Frane. sunk one, Powley another. Then L. Smith got away with one, Powley another. The half ended 8 to 6. Mentor Douglas talked to his tribe. We then saw that we were losing.
