On presentation of such receipt to the Controller, he shall thereupon Issue license and deliver to such licensee a license check. All licenses shall be numbered and a record thereof kept by the Controller In a book provided for that purpose. Such record shall contain the name of the licensee, the date of the Issuance, the amount paid, the time when the same expires. It shall be the duty of the controller to provide sufficient number of license checks for delivery to the person taking- out licenses of such design as shall by him be deemed, best. SECTION 3. Every person who shall keep for use or hire any vehicle of class A, B, C, D, E, F. G, or H. shall attach thereto !n a conspicuous place the license check so furnished by the Comptroller, and shall keep the same attached to such vehicle at all time during the rerlod for which the same was Issued. On the expiration of such license It shall be the duty of such person to procure a new license check, to remove such old license check and attach the new one to such vehicle and keep the sams so attached during the time for which the same was issued. It shall be unlawful for any person to keep attached to any vehicle of any kind any license check after the expiration of the year for which the same shall be Issued. Iicens3 checks shall be so designated either by date or otherwise as to Indicate the year for which the same were Issued. SECTION 4 Whenever any such vehicle shall be sold or transferred it shall be the duty of the person selling the same to transfer In writing such license and to deliver such license check to such purchaser. Such purchaser shall thereupon produce such assignment and check to the Comptroller, who shall note the transfer In the license register and on the production of the license issued shall indorse thereon a memorandum of such transfer. Such transfer and Indorsement shall continue In force such license In favor of such purchaser until the expiration thereof. SECTIOX 5 It shall be unlawful for any person to remove from any licensed vehicle any such license check without the consent of the owner thereof. It shall be unlawful for any person to attach any license check to any vehicle other than the one for which the same, was issued. It shall bo unlawful for any person to place on any vclcle, or to sell to any person, or to have In his possession, any spurious or counterfeit license checks. SECTION 6 Any person having or keeping any vehicle of the kind described in this ordinance who shall fail to take out such license. or who shall violate any of the provisions of this ordinance shall be fined in any sum not less than $100.00 nor more than $500.00. SECTION 7 The reveue derived from such licenses shall be used exclusively for the maintenance and repair of streets.
