NEW RECORD
FOR DRUNKS
AT STATION
Of the 341 arrets made last month by Hammond police (that number sets a record for the year) 135 were' for intoxication. (And that establishes another record ) - In pplte of tinuwallr successful efforts of the local authorities to stamp our the liquor traffic there has been a steady and Increasing number of drunks nrrested It Is noteworthy that while the Jlguor law violators themselves are forelnera, the consumers, those nabbed for ntoIcatlon are American born. It takes, a deal of red tao and back-hand whispering to get even & drink of moonshine In most of the reft drink parlors here. Operators of saloons are driven to desperation to find new hldlnsr places for -heir contraband. Detectives of Hammond central statlon have found liquor In the most
ingeniouslj contrived places Imaginable. A mother rocking her baby In a cradle hj the kitchen of slatternly home presents an Innocent picture. But on two occasions detectives found moonshine in bottles beneath tho sleeping- Infant. Another man had his liquor burled beneath the kitchen floor. There was one small opening- urder th rear step leading beneath the house. This man had a ten-ye-ar-old son. He was small and slightly built. The son would wiggle through the hole, under the hviM, bury and ex. cvvate the moonshine as occasion warranted. Only enough is kept at thd bar to suprly i nmediate needs. K.'en thli is dunipvil when the raiders tnt Detectives raided a place in Roby recently. M;ir.e entered the front, others by the rear door. Nick Kinslie happened to be walking around the house. Suddenly a window was thrown open. Krom the , darkened Interior two hands were thrust in front of him. The l:ands held a Jug. '"Take it, quick, Henry." was the hasty appeal. Nick took it. The jug held moonshine. The woman in the house thought sh'? was handing It to her husband. He was convicted. Police got twenty-five liquor law

CAUSE LACK OF PEP AND DANGEROUS GAS
Jaques' Little Wondey Capsules Promptly Relieve and Prevent Dyspepsia, Indigestion and Constipation If you are too Jat or too thin if you lack that desirable American quality known as "pep" and "go" if you have annoying, dangerous gas the chances are there is something wrong with your digestion. Dyspepsia, indigestion and kindred ailments of the stomach and digestive tract are prevalent among American people because we eat fast and at irregular times. Strong, vigorous people are able to stand the strain for a time, but sooner or later the digestive organs rebel. They cannot stand overeating and the abuse of irregular meals and all sorts of cooking indefinitely.
Undigested rood Poisons The secretive furul .'!or3 Jl-f the stomach become impaired. The. digestive fluids become weak and t-paj-se. when they should be strong and abundant to accomplish their work. This results In the food not only becoming unfit for assimilation, but often decomposing in the stomach ajirt poisoning the whole system. Gu is formed, producing a dull, heavy feeling with headache, coated tongue, nausea, fetid breath, heartburn, dizziness, flatulence, biliousness and many other forni3 of stomach disturbances, which quickly bccme chronic. On Capcol XMffasta 5,000 Orians Jaques' Little Wonder Capsules save your stomach. They contain a number of reliable and standard medicines acknowledged by authorities to be correctives in certain gastric and Intestinal disturbances. One capsule will aid in digesting 5.000 grians of food. Jaques' Little A Vender Capsules relieve disorders of the stomach and digestive tract, quickly correcting the evil in mild and acute cases and gradually relieving chronic and obstinate cases. Some of the ingredients act chemically on the food, aiding disrestion and obviating the many disturbances caused by gas; others stimulate the secreting glands and tone, up the stomach; stil lothers act as a mild laxative, Capaulu Superior to Pills "Jaques' Little Wonder Capsules provide the quickest and easiest form for relieving indigestion and dyspepsia. Authorities state that tWe capsule forms a valuable prototive carrier for medicines and is far superior to pills or tablets which often become so hard that thev cannot be readily assimilated in tho stomach and frequently do not dissolve ax all, passing solidly through the stomach and bowels. The pure gelatin, which forms Jaques Little Wonder rpsulei dissolves within
one or two minutes after It enters
tlie stomach. This at once releases the nic-dicme to do its effective work. There is no luss or bother. ou simply take one or two capsules and two or three swallows of water. Satisfaction Ouaranteed. A single capsule usually gives beneficial results. It goes" dircctlv to the spot. If taken directly after eating, one capsule will often prevent an attac'K. of Indigestion. If taken regularly after each meal for a period of six to leu daws such great rcliet is given that even the most confirmed dyspeptics have been thoroughly convinced or their value. Jaques' Little Wonder Capsules are soid Under a strict guarantee to refund the money to anyone who Is not satisfied after giving them a trial. Presiding Elder' Testimony. Rev. Dr. Thomas G. Thompson, former presiding elder of the Methodist Kpiscopal church, writing from Johnstown. .V. T.. August 11', 1321, says: "I have used- Jaques' Little Wonder Capsules as needed for more than twelve years and have always found them beneficial and helpful. They have proen themselves able to give immediate relief vhen my digestive apparatus for some reason has been thrown out of gear and does not function properly.
