There will be a parade which starts at 1:30 o'clock and will end at the- park. There the program will be carried out Memorial trees will bo planted. George Hannauer, president of the Calumet Memorial Park District will present the new park to the public. Hon. "William H. gexton, of Chicapo, will deliver the dedication aJdrcs9. Other addi esses will be made by Commandr Ray Seely of the Hammond American Lerlon post, Sheldon Gov-ler, alde-rman of Ch Sen ffo, and chairman of the Chicago Email Parks Commission, A. M. The so-called "liberal" element in the present congxetis Is about seventy-five strong, und indications are hat In the next congress there, will ba at least 130, perhaps 175, members favorable to modification of the Volstead law. Two hundred and eighteen votes constitute a majority. The chief wet victories are. found In the election of "liberal" candidates from many states, notably in NewYork and Pennsylvania. The wets claim a smashing? victory in the following' results: Defeat of Representative Volstead himself in Minnesota. Illinois voted three to one in favor of light wines ajid beer. Massachusetts voted down more relgorous enforcement by more than 100,000. New Jersey elected a wet senator In Governor Edwards and an avowedly wet eoverrior and state administration. California voted down more re'.grorous enforcement measures by 50,000. Maryland re-elected Representative John Phillip Hill, republican, present wet leader of the house from a normally democratlo district and also contributed a wet senator n William Cabell Bruce.
