Having been In close contact with the workings of nearly every city department of Chicago, and particularly that of law enforcement for over a year, there is no doubt but ' that Rev. Williamson will be able to j relate some Important facts about the smoothest political operating' I machine In tte country today. Since leaving his position with the) city. Rev. What Became of Money? j When Tony yargo came marching home without a dime last nght to show for his month's labor, the Mrs. flew Into a rage and during her storm threw the half-tanked spouse sprawling upon the floor. After a short session of this treatment, Tony fessed up. Tea he had taken a drink, tout only a' few. The bar flies were treated and the bartender given hla extra fine. But outside of this Tony was unable to tell where his $100 had gone. Mrs. Yargo peeing that she was only wasting time, stimmoned the police She told yn!!ce officers Budich and TrtanJ who had answered the call, that her Tony had visited the soft drink parlors of Julius Kovach at Chicag-o and Kennedy aves. and Joseph Gall at 47?S McCook ave. and probably others. While at these places Mrs. Varsro told the officers that her husband's pockets had been cleaned. Whether he has lost it or had been robbed of his money, Tony was unabl to tell the police. The last thing- he remembered was being1 In Joseph Gall's place where he swooned away under the effects of liquor. Joseph Gajl, proprietor of Jh soft drink parlor at 4723 McCook avenue was brougrht into the East Chicago poJlce station for questioning-, lie denied having- any knowledge of Vargo's money and was released. The police be-lleve that Tony either lost or epent his money In soft drink parlors. One hundred dollars doesn't go very far since the ibootleggers boosted their prices. Board Meeting. the East Chicag-o school eystem was given an opT?ortlJnity to explain the many Important changes for school work which he proposes to make this school year. While none were definitely concluded all board members are believed to a?ree with Supt. Canine At Lyric Theatre The following- communication was printed In the Anderson, S. C. Mall of June 80, and signed by the Rev. Guy 11. Frailer. The communication expresses Mr. FraHer opinion of the picture which is to te shown at the Lyric theatre in East ChicaKO and Is as follows: "To Editor Dally Mall: "In view of the crying need of shielding and earing our young people from the horrible and unspeakable and unprintable deformities and abnormalities of life when abused, I wish It were possible for the police to arrest every young man in Anderson and take them to the Strand tonight and compel them to Bit through the picture as entitled "Are You Fit to Marry?" We believe in compulsory education, and this contemplated act. If It could be carried out would be entirely In keeping with that principle, for education of the sort contained in that picture, if heeded, will do more for the ralvatlon of the race than almost any amount of preaching. "I am not advertising the Strand but I say all glory to the theater when used for the benefit of the race. We have not begun to capitalize the moving picture house as a blessing. On with the show. Guard our young women for the sake of the little angels. "GUT It FRAZIETL" The picture will be showing at the Lyric theater next Monday. Only women will be allowed to attend the afternoon matinee and men In the evening.
