Hall, director of the National Institute of Progressive Farming, at Chicago. Latest government figures show Milwaukee pays nine cents for its milk, while Chicago, eighty-six miles away, pays twelve. New York, Atlarta, Dallas and Galveston pay fifteen; Los Angeles and New Orleans fourteen; Seattle, Detroit and Memphis, thirteen; St. Louis, Pittsburg, Chicago and Portland (Ore.), twelve, and so on. Minneapolis and St. Paul, with tencent milk, alone approach Milwaukee, a: here again, Mr. Hall points out, it it a case of pure-bred stock and scientific farming. Milwaukee, however, gets the cheapest milk because in the adjacent county of Waukesha scientific farming has . reached the zenith. Waukesha is the cow capital of the world and next winments then tlaose returned at tlie last grand Jury cession ere expected to he returned.
