POLICE FIND "LOVE DIRECTORY" CLUE
PHOENIX MURDER
PHONEN1X Arlaona, Oct. 6. A Love Directory" containing the name of XOO or more women of Phoenix. Los Angeles. Chicago and other cities was said by the police today to be the chief clue In the murder mystery of Guy N. Denier. The names were written In a little black bound book that Denier carried in his breast pocket over his heart. Denler's body, scantily clad, was found floatinr In a canal on the outskirts of this city.. It was believed at first that he had commited suicide, but a postmortem revealed that he had been choked to death. Denier was formerly head of a department In a large Chicago mall order house. Ill health compelled him to come Into the southwest. He became a well known figure In the highest social circles of this city and an official of the country club. He was especially popular with the women and Is said to have betn named as co-respondent in several divorce suits. A short time before his death Denier left this city. He was reported to have said to a friend. If

. INTERNATIONAL NEWS SERVICE MONTREAL Oct. . Heavy rain in northwestern Ontario began to check forest fires that swept over hamlets and small towns, killing at least thirty-three persons. The destruction of Haileybury was described as one of the worst calamities In the history of Ontario province. It is feared that many more persons were killed than those contained In the known lists. Many residents of Haileybury fled before the onrushlng flames into Ttmiskaming lake. There was a high wind and it is feared that women and children were overwhelmed and drowned. It Is reported that the fire started In a dump where garbage was being burned. Plans for rebuilding of Haileybury are under way.

Oakley Kelly and John Mac Ready, -when they had kept the new army monoplane T-2. In the air longer than the 26 hours and eleven minutes mark made at Berlin in 1920. At 8:30 they were still circling over the city and Rockwell Field. Officials expressed the firm belief that they would remain aloft until their fuel supply is exhausted, some time this afternoon. Fog- yesterday halted an attempted non-stop flight to New York. This will be undertaken again early next mcnth.

admitted having had intimate rela
tions with colored men at the above address .part of the money which the earned she gave to the Sealey Roman. The other women also anmitted similar relations with colored men.
The case was set for trial next

HUBBY KICKED HER; WIFE ALLEGES In a complaint filed In the Gary Lake Superior cohrt, Andy Tarkhp Is made defendant, Natanja .Tarkhp, the defendant, alleges that Andy lived up to all the requirements of a good husband from Jan. 1, 1908, until Sept. 3E. 1922. when for some reason unknown to the plaintiff, he beat her, knocked her down and kicked her, and she alleges that she is afraid that some harm may oome to her. The couple has three children. The plaintiff states she Is a fit and proper person to care for said children, and asks the court to grant thefr custody to her.
