Baron Walter J. Riley, renins feudal monarch of Calumet lEast Chicago) rode up to his castle, the First -Calumet Trust & .Savings hank in a grreat rage. The Baron leaped from his eight cylinder charger, brushed a depositor to one side and stalked through the battlements into the great marble hall. 'Summon my trusty warrior. Bill Shutz," shouted the Baron. The warrior came running- up, grasping- his sabre. "Shutz." commanded the Baron, "doth ye know a. yearling knight who calls himself Arnold Kunert, and claims to be the city clerk of Hammond?" 'Yes, my Lord." siy? BUI. "But my name isn't Shutz. It's Sohulte. If you call me Shutz apaln. I will quit guarding this castle and so back to the show business." "All right. Bill." says the Baron. "If ye do'st s-s I say your name is Schulte-. If ye do'st not do as I say your name Is Mud and Mrs. Brhulte's a w,idow." THE ITiOT THICKENS "Aye, aye. Colonel I mean Bar3n." says Ei;L "This yearling knight, Arnold Kunert, has been makinc eyes at try private secretary, Mabel Sontag." says the Baron. "Aye. even more. He has been making love to her. Only last week when I dictated a letter to the president of the ,Monon railroad and concluded, very truly yours," she wrote it: "With love and kisses. " "I've heard of such cases," saj-s Bill. "I knew a fellow once who rot stuck on a girl in Gary." "Never mind .what ye know," the Baron shouted. ""What I want to do is to keep this yearling knight away from my castle. Off with his head!" He's a tough bird, ho.s," says Schudte, "but I'll sap him for you." THE COXSPIRACT The yearling knight was not so easily sapped, however. Entering by a secret passage cf the castle, he spirited the private secretary away and they were marrid, Saturday afternoon, at Oak Park. Miss Dorothy Saunders of Joliet and Milton Sontag. the bride'3 brother, were present. For the present the couple will reside with Mr. and Mrs. Ernest F. Kunert, parents of the groom. Meantime Baron P.iiey is said to have overcome hi3 keen disappointment in losing the services of his' private secretary who was a Very r-ble business woman, and has sent the honeymooners a beautiful present. The Baron suspects, however, that his warrior. Schult.e, tipped Kunert off to the secret passage-way into the castle.

THE KIDDIES ALL LIKE C00G- ' AN'S PICTURE. Yesterday afternoon's screening of Jackie Coogan's latest picture saw more children in the Parthenon theatre than has attended any show at thin theatre for a long time. The reason is plainly that the popularity of this youthful star has been boosted by the hundreds of children who were fortunate enough to see the picture on the opening day and that the mothers of Hammond have felt that if their children should miss Jackie they would be missing the season's best in the line of motion picture entertainment. From the first appearance of this boy .star on the screen until the last the kidies laughed yelled and thoroughly enjoyed themselves. Tomorrow will 'be the last day this picture will be shown in Hammond. The regular program of Jazz night acts will be given at this evening's performance in addition to the feature, and comedy.

To the People-of East Chicago Hammond, Indiana, June 21,1 922. TO OUR GOOD NEIGHBORS ON THE EAST : We want you to think of LaSalle Addition as a place to make your future home. Geographically, its located in Hammond. Logically, its a place for you East Chicagoans to live in, for it wont be very long before our two cities are amalgamated. . We all want it, and whatever we all want, we usually get. ' LaSalle Addition is a new development. So every home here wilkjbe a new one. Every home must cost at least $3,000, so this will prevent the construction of temporary homes. If you are going to build your home you want the environment to be right. Grass plats 13 feet wide will be dedicated on each side of the pavement. Permanent concrete or asphalt pavements will be laid. The sewers will be fitted in with the new deep sewer system for the entire City of Hammond. We suggest that you select your site, start making your monthly payments, and you will find the time pretty short before you are ready for your warranty deed and ready to build. Even if you work in Gary, Hegiewisch, Kensington, or Pullman, you can get to your work remarkably quick on account of the high speed electric service furnished by the South Shore Lines. They have a station stop on Columbia Avenue two blocks from the property, and another stop on White Oak Avenue, two blocks from the property. Ten minute service between Hammond, Whiting and East Chicago or Indiana Harbor is furnished by the H. W. & E. C. Electric which line runs right past the property on 1 50th Street. LaSalle Addition is the hub of the Industrial cities of Lake county. We invite you to come to our office and get your free ticket on the 1922 Chevrolet Touring Car. You will not be asked to buy a lot. There are no strings on this offer, except that you be present on LaSalle Addition when the drawing, will take place. s All our residential lots are 372 ft. wide and 125 ft, deep. They are all priced at $468.75 each. Easy terms will be made. We want to see you next Saturday. Come on over and lets get acquainted. Yours Very Truly,
