ALIM.Y1 BAXftlET The annual banquet given by the East Chicago High School Alumni Association in honor of the graduating class will take place tonight at 6:30 in the parlors of the Congregational church. 145th street and Maagoun avenue, and will be followed fay a dance at the McKinley gym. The dance is scheduled to begin at 8:30. The ladies in charge of the "feed" have promised an excellent menu", and the committee on decorations have been busy for some time in producing effects that will please the eye. The well-known Woodlawn Cafe Orchestra has been secured to furnish the music at the Gym and fhose who take advantage of this opportunity will not be disappointed If they are seeking a neal dance. The admission for both 'banquet and dance Is 11.50 which may be paid at the church. For the "banquet alone tre charge is $1.00 per plate and for the dance $1.50 per couple.

70 GRADUATE LAST XIGHT The largest class, TO In number, in the existence of the East Chicago high school received their diplomas at the graduation exercises held at the Hartley theatre last night. In the presene of hundreds of mothers, fathers and relatives of the graduates the theatre was crowded by a g-alaay of town folk to witness thu commencement exercises. Preceding tfhe presentation of the diplomas there was a stimulating addrss by Dr. Joshua Stansfleld, the pator of the Hyde Fark Methodist church, Chloago. Facing the stuVnts ai-ttmes during hi talk. Dr. Stansfleld referred to this instance as probably the greatest event in the students' llives. This he said is jeally the starting point from the ideal to the actual or practical side of life and making each student rely upon rheir own Initiative for his or her attainment to success. Admonishing at intervals during his address, th speaker made clear to the students that success was founded upon the selecting of good and aound principals. Not depending upon fhte to work Its way into and twisting- a career into success, but by taking t!(5 Initiative and subscribing to the ideals of ones choice should be the determination of each student, said the doctor. Walter Wadesffa, a boy living at 539 151st street, Indiana Harbor, accidently discharj.Vd his B. B. gun while loading it in t'he back yard of his home yesterday afternoon and the air-gun shot flew over to the adjoining yard and struck sixteen months old Franks Daninga over th,'3 eye causing serious injury to her. Frightened at what he had done the boy flew from his home and had not returned this morning. The mother of the boy promised the police that she would have her son at the East Chicago police station by his afternoon.

The heavy explosion that occurred late yesterday morning to the rear of the National Guard headquarters 3450 Michigan avenue, was found to have caused slight damages. With the exception of a few rear windows in the armory being broken, nothing else was effected. The blast was found to have been caused by some waste powder in a pile of rubiblsh to Che rear of the building believed to have ben ignited by the hot sun.

Boy Chicken Thieves Must Attend Church, Is Decision of Court
