PURE FOOD LAWS ARE VIOLATED BY DEALERS

INTERNATIONAL NEWS SERVICE) WASHINGTON. June 15 Number of feed dealers In the United States are. violating: the food and drugs act fcy refilling", with inferior quality products, used feed sacks bearing the name of the manufacturer and the brand nam of the feed which the bag originally contained, according to the department of agriculture. "Some feed dealers are refilling usee feed sacks stamped or printed with the name of the manufacturer and the brand name of the feed that was originally in theack so that the names and brands are not true in reference to the feed in the sack after refilling," declared an official "of the department's chemistry bureau, which is charged with the enforcement of the food and drugs act. Warning that a dealer contemplating the refilling of used feed sacks, on which, are printed the names of other manufacturers or any statements not correct when applied to the product he uses in refilling the sacks, must see that all such statements are obliterated, the department declared that "approprite action wilf be taken in all cases found to be in violation of the law."

Pittsburgh, Pa., the Veterans' bu- , reau announced recently. The bureau has Just inaugurated a special short course in this field which will be continuous throught -out the year. Disabled ex-servic men with two years of high school education, qualified to pursui this ; work, can finish any of thesis courses in three years and receive from the university the degree of B.S. in economics. This course, the bureau stated, is open to trainees throughout the United States. More than forty students already are enrolled arid forty additional trainees can be provided for during this period.
