V.'f ( ncrday was a decide. i success. The day was clear and warm, and the place was decidedly attractive. The principal events of the morning were assembly and the accompanying incidents. At half past one the schools assembled, each at its own headquarters, and Joined In a monstrous parade of school children, trom all the supervised schooAs of Division Seven. The parade was followed immediately by the pageant of Illinois history, and the athletic events. The pupils whom Mrs. Bielefeldt drifled for the pageant proved so prominent that they attracted the attention of the photographer of one it Chicago's dailies, who was present, and a photograph of them in costume appeared in a subsequent edition of the paper. The boys drilled by the male members of the faculty proved so effective that they brought home with them three of the four field and track banners which were presented to graded schools. The high school class met with no opposition whatever, for none of the other contestants entered against them appeared to compete. (Class A, however, was strongly contested and won with a narrow margin. Class C won with more comfortable margin. Class B lost by a very narrow margin to Whittier School. In the baseball game, Wentworth administered a crushing defeat upon Thornton high school of Harvey. Next Friday and Saturday evenings, the high school classes present a proeram of which
