ghter of Mr. and Mrs. Levi Miller, became- the bride of Henry Sneddin, ron of Mr. and Mrs. William Sneddin, of East Chicago, in the residence of the bride"s parents of Oak street. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. E. LeRoy Steffey, of the Pine Street Presbyterian church, and only the immediate families were In attendance. The bride was daintily powned In white French voile with trimming's of baby Irish lace and she carried a lovely bouquet of bride's rosea and valley lilies. The young- couple were attended by the brother and sister of the bride, and after the services a delicious buffet luncheon was served. The bride and groom left fott Rensselaer where they will spend some time visiting friends and rela tives, and uprv. the'r return will make their, home In Hammond. Mrs. Sneddin, a popular young lady of Hammond, has been for some tir, In the employ of E. C. Mlnas Company, and Mr. Tjneddi holds, a responsible position In the General American Tank Car Corporation of East Chicago. The many friends of the young people wish them every happiness and abundant prosperity.

Mr. Pierce made the trip by motor and was accompanied by Granville Keller of South Bend, who will leave this evening for his home. Tomorrow afternoon at half past two o'clock Mrs. Otto Knoerzer will entertain for the club ladies in the Hammond Country Club. A good attendance Is expected. Miss Wiima Bieker of Indiana University at Eloomington came on Wednesday to spend the summer vacation with her parents. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Bieker of Douglas street. Miss Isabella Hawkins and Mrs. O. IX Kline delightfully entertained at a miscellaneous shower last evening- for Mrs. Ra7 Rammagre in Miss Hawkins' home on Lewis street. There were lovely bouquets of pink peonies through the rooms and dancing was enjoyed. The g-uest of honor was given a number of beautiful gifts, after which the hostess served a delicious and dainty luncheon to fifteen guests. a Alfred Kaufmann and Clarence Minas will return home for the summer vacation of the University of Pennsylvania on Sunday. Mrs. Frank Berry Mcllroy very charmingly entertained at a bridge luncheon In her horae on Detroit street. Through the attractive rooms were numerous immense bouquets of delicate pink peonies, and on each of the six handsomely appointed tables was 'a large bouquet of Columbia roses In a crystal basket. A most delicious and dainty course luncheon was served, atter which bridge was played. Honors in the cards . were made by Mra. Otto Knoerzer, Mrs. B. E. Escher, Mrs. J. H. McClay, Mrs. Robert R. G-illis and Mrs. George Hannauer. During the afternoon delectable iced drinks and mints were served.

University of Illinois at Cham-paigne.

An . excellent program. Including orchestral numbers of the North Side Orchestra, ah address by Prof. Cortwrlght and one by Rev. Steffey, was greatly enjoyed by. about fifty men. Eeveral ladles of the church served a delicious luncheon in the dining room. A pplnt of contact was established between the Brotherhood and the Comets Club that augurs well for the future of the two organisations and the North Side.

The King's Heralds will hold their June meeting tomorrow afternoon at half past two o'clock with Josephine Otto in her home, 832 Maywood avenue. The steamer race will close at this time. The Atlantic and Pacific fleets will try to see which can bring the most steamers safely into port. Plans for the picnic iln July will also bo made at this meeting. A good attendance is urged.
