EAST CHICAGO BOXING TONIGHT (BY LARRY GEORGE) Patsy Rocco la ready for his ten round argument tonight at Szabo hall. East Chicago, against Charley Trembly. He wound up his training grind this morning with some light road work. He is now in a razor-edge condition.
Reports from the Arcade have it that Charley Is also prepared to step Into the ring tonight. According to his handlers, he has put in some stilt work up there and now he Is as close to his best as he can be. During the last two days this bout has risen from mere obscurity to great concern. When the articles of agreement were signed both managers had the affair ticketed a "soft picklnsr" But when news wm

wafted to and fro of the growing class of the two men, and of the serious manner in which they were training. It brought grave apprehension to the ibreast of their backers and admirers. Work was pushed along. A coupje of additional hours were slipped on to the training schedule. Admonitions were flung at the battlers until now they are both nervously wait lng for the gong to usher them to the center of the ring. Ssabos hall will sure witness one wjkd Strega.'. tonSyht f.n trfs ght. Tim O'Nell, Pattsy's manager, haa been persistently after his man ta score a knock-out.. And Patsy has begun to believe in nothing Ie. The seml-wlndup between Kewpie Trimble, also of Tim" stable, and Johnny Unger of Chicago Aroa.de. at 120 pounds for 6 rounds is also on the books for a good scrap. Not much is known of Johnny except that he halls from the Arcade of Chicago, where he steps around with the big ones of the game. He
may be a dark horse. At any rate. Tim has warned Kewpie not to take any chances with him. The curtain raiser of the card is stirring up quite a bit of interest. It brings together two dandy paperweights of local fame; namely, Jeff Blake and Jack Duffy. They each scale 100 pounds of "nerve, muscle and bone. It is safe to say that these boys will give the crowd the biggest treat of the evening. They will display enough thrills artd excitement to fur. nish the most skeptical with plenty of good entertainment. The other bout on the card is a neighborhood battle. Jo Bishop, of South Chicago will try to settle an old argument with Joey Rahan of Hammond. They each weigh 1ZZ pounds. Neither has any fear or love for the other nd when the first stinging blow is landed, there will be plenty of fireworks to gab upon.
Promoter MacAvor announce that
the popular prices of 11.00, $2.00 and $3.00, will prevail. The doors will be Qpenefl at 8:00 p. m. promptly. The first bout will go On soon after.

GUESTS WILL SEE GARY SIGHTS TODAY In the neighborhood of fifty out-of-town guests who are attending the
vast and far-flung enterprises, heips to make railway travel In many parts of the country more comfortable, and h.-ts other roles which I shall dwell upon and briefly. HOW IT WAS CONCEIVED "A little of the history of this widely-used machine. The Jordan was the invention at th iat. n. f
Jordan, a Michigan Central railway !
official who saw that mechanical methods could be us'Jd to do many tasks then perforpned by men or by me,n and horses. Obtaining patents on his machine, he built in East Chicago a plant for their manufacture. His machine originally was mounted on a wooden car with wooden frames. "Upon the death of Mr. Jordan some ten years ago, the direction of the company passed into the hands of Col. Wa'Jtr J. Riiey of this city. Under Col. Riley's direction the company has expanded, the machine haa been re-designed so that today it is an all-steel affair, and with many additional Improvements. Having once worked on a railroad himself. Col. Riley saw a new field
,r the Jordan, and under his direc
tion the ditching attachment was patented and perfected. WHAT IT DOES "Primarily the Jordan Is a railway machine, spreading and moving earth, sloping banks, ripping up Ice. fighting and - removing snow and forming ditches. It is an all-the-year-around machine for railways, and the new ditcher attachment enables railways to have good drainage and without good drainage you do not have safe travel. The big function of the Jordan is best expressed In the slogan, 'It does the work of an army of men.' In a day's time, this machine with a locomotive attached, does what formerly required two thousand men te do. An interesting description of the Jordan is to be found in the
