Twyman, who Is now sit ting as a member of the board In the recount of the county treasurer ballot, have failed to follow the precedent set by the Judge Twyman of ataohing- a Jail sentence together with aheavy fine for all violators of the stae liquor law. Instead the special Judges when finding a man guilty, whether he has appeared once or a dozen times In the court, attach a light fine and allow the violator to go free to continue his Old practices. These judges have failed miserably to follow the theory of the law as applied by Judge Twyman of being- lenient with the first offender tout giving- a repeater the maximum penalty. Testerday was an instance of this practice with Wm. J. Murray acting as Judgs. He fined the rankest vi olators appearing upon the police dockets $50 and cost. Already more than 400 traDshootine tournaments have been registered by the American Trapshootin2 association that Is for one or two day shoots and there doesn't seem to be any doubt but that the number of registered club shoots will run clone to 1,600. More than eleht million targets were thrown last year and some 20.000 participated in the registered events, of which more than 7,000 were beginners. In 1921 the percentage of resident contestants at state tournaments was IS per cent higher than in any pre vious year. There are about 2,000 sun clubs in the United States and Canada, of which number about 1,000 are actively engaged in working with the American Trapshooting association. One hundred and twentyfive new clubs were organized last year, and 277 partially developed. A. T.
