With -the formal opening of the Canton Hammond I. O. O.F., turn-iner-nlgrht festival but twenty tour hours away, the committee of arrangements finds Itself an exceeding ly busy 'body as it wrestles with the many details preparatory to the Kttaway night of the ibig event. One vry important item was checked oft list evening when Chairman Robert S. In a conspicuous spot for'public inspection and a special tub-committee will be stationed with it to sell tickets. While the Canton committee members are busy whipping their prepar-' ations in shape for the opening night, the managers and attaches of the Nat Reiss Shows are doing likewise. Very early and unexpectedly
yesterday morning the Reiss show train of eighteen cars rolled into the B. & O. terminal and the work of unloading and transferring the full equipment and paraphernalia to the exhibition grounds was under way a little while afterward. Before night-fall the show grounds had taken on a real circusy appearance with the blend of colors from the red wagons and white tops. Today every attraction is "set" and ready for the opening signal. Right now all Hammond is profoafoly quite as ready for good outdoor entertainment of the clean and wholesome sort, and according to the reports that have preceded and followed these attractions from aver Illinois way. where they have been exhibiting lately, there need be no misgivings as to the possible offense of any public morals or reform ethics. "As clean as the driven snow" is the Reiss Show slogan and the notices from the Illinois State newspapers say that Is the sort of entertainment Hammond folks may expect.
