According to the story told by the g-lrls the Ford did not have any lUghts. The girls were walking on Ninth avenue -when the Ford dTove dnto their mldt with out warning. The driver of the car did not stop to see what damage had been done and drove away In the darkness. The Injured cirla were found by the crew of a Gary -Hammond car. It was only a miracle that one or more of them were not killed they say. Every effort Is being made by Chief Forbls of Gary to learn the identity of the Ford who will be arretted and punished If he is captured

TWO E. CHICAGO DIVORCE SUITS

Twice wedded but under different names. Mr. and Mrs. Walter Welnstock of East Chicago, (have separated and Mrs. Weinstock today filed a suit for divorce in the Hammond Superior court. They were first married at Valparaiso, November 24, 1913. At that time Mrs. Weinstock says her husband gave his name as Clark. Later, for some reason unexplained, he decided to resume his real name, Weinstock. So they were married again. That was November 26th, 1318. Mrs. Weinstock alleges that her husband had beat her with a clothes stick and stove poker. She asks for the custody of their chinand $9 a week for its support. H, E. Granger 1s her attorney. Frank Ferger, 4854 Alexander ave. East Chicago, today filed suit for a divorce from his wife Elizabeth, in the Superior court at Hamond. Thy were married May 12, 1908 and separated last Monday. Pcrger. charges that his wife has been running around with various men fund would often remain away from home for several days at a time. He worked nights and often sha would entertain flier friends at home. Riley, Hembroff, Dyer and Reed are his attorneys.

FINED $15.00 AND 30 DAYS Ed. Black, colored, yesterday received a sentence of 30 days in Jail and a fine of 815.00 when he was found gTiilty In the city court. Ruf-u-s Lyona was the complaining witness who stated that Ed. chased him for nearly a block with an open knife. According to wltneses, the fight started when Black asked Lyons for.

a dollar, which it was aMeged, Lyons owed Black. Lyons said he didn't have the dollar ithen, -but he would pay Black' on pay day. According to witnesses, Black said in that case he would take more than a dollar's worth of Lyon's hide. Then the chase began. Lyons ran Into a pool-room with. Black at his heels. Then Lyons ran into a drug store and called the police. Detective Sergeant Mather and plain clatihesmen Wytow and Windmuller responded to the call and arrested Black at 1324 Adams street. He was charged with assault with intent to kill.

A BOMB SCARE Gary's south side foreign district had another bomb scare last night and on top of that a Mrs. Joe Romano, 1287 W. 17th avenue had a nar row escape from being blown into eternity. Mrs. Romano had been visiting at a neighbor's house and was on her way home when she saw a small flame burning on the ground near the sidewalk, Nearlng the hurnlng obstacle, she stooped to pick It up and at that Instant there was a terrible explosion. People ran oiut Unto the street and there was ageneral commotion. Windows of the houses were cracked and broken and a hurried call was sent Into the police station. When Mrs. Romano came to her senses she learned that she had almost picked up a deadly burning bomb. Outside of being frightened, slightly shocked n dsuffered a cut below the knee, Mrs. Romano was little worse off for her close call from death. This is the third bomb case on the south side in the past thre months.
