Gary's eleven boy bandits who tried to escape Jail after confessing to four auto thefts and in the neighborhood of two dozen -burglaries and store robberies are now confined In the county Jail at Crown Point, where charges against them were filed direct in the Criminal court Charges ot burglary and grand larceny have been filed against them by Prosecuting attorney Dwlght M. Kinder. Six of the eleven have reform school records, one of them having escaped from Piainfleld where the other five were paroled.

"VIC" GOODMAN IN ACCIDENT Victor Goodman, owner of the Ladies' Shop, figured in an automobile accident Sunday night about 8:30 o'clock. Mr. Goodman suffered a scalp wound and bruises none of which are very serious. Immediately after the accident he was taken to the Mercy hospital where his wounds were dressed and then he v.-as removed to his home. The exact cause of the accident is unknown.
THREE FINED FOR VIOLATING VOLSTEAD ACT
Three colored men. George Noble. Curtis .Moore and oSloman Sutton, arrested in a restaurant at 115 W. Seventeenth ave. last night on a charge of .violating the state liquor law, were found guilty before Judge William Dunn, in the police court this morning and fined $130 each. ,

$360.00 IN . LIQUOR FINES Three men were each fined $130.00 in city . court yesterday morning when they were arraigned on charges of violating the atate liquor law. Two and a half quarts of moonshine whiskey found in a waste basket in the hall of the restaurant located at 11 West 17th avenue were used as evidence against Solornan Sutton, Curtis Moore and George Nobles. Sutton, who was in charge of the restaurant was fined $130.00. Nobles stated that he bought a pint of liquor from Moore, and they were both $130.00.

NEGLECTS HIS SON, ARRESTED On a complaint made by neighbors last night that he was not a fit person to care for his four year old son, George Gerdick, 1011 Marshall street, Tolleston, was arrested last night and today turned over to the custody of the Juvenille officer, Lynch. , According to the police his wife left him some weeks ago, taking with her three of the children and leaving the small boy with Gerdick. She went to South Bend. Last evening when the police arrived at the Gerdick home they found the child on the front porch.
GARY MAN'S MOTHER DIES Word was received in Gary yesterday announcing the sad news of the death of Mrs. Katherine Stringfellow, S3 years old. of Findlay, O., and mother of Harry Stringfellow Reynold building druggist. Mr. Stringfellow made a hurried trip to Findlay last Saturday after receiving a wire that his 'brother had suffered a severe fall and that her condition was serious. Mr. Stringfellow also lost a brother several months ago. A sister, Mrs. W. T. Spatch, of

with Mr. Stringfellow the latter part of the week.
