will oppose Townsend In the primaries. "Senator Townsend's volunteer workers have reported expenditures aggregating more than $3,000 already, with the primary election three months away," said Kelley. "If it takes three thousand dollars to get the old Newberry machine from the garage, I'm wondering how much it will take to keep the old fhing going all' summer. BATTER 0 ES
Lifting Labor's Yoke
Go into a big industrial plant or railway station today and you will see little electric trucks, like ants, bearing huge weights many times their own size. One such truckpropelled by a tireless Exide-Ironclad Battery, does the work of eight men, speeds production, and releases man-power from the back-breaking toil of bearing burdens for the skilful work of hand and eye. From propelling mine locomotives and lighting farm homes to supplying
the current that sends your voice over the telephone, Exide Batteries play a vital role in the drama of American life. Experience in making batteries for every purpose since the dawn of the storage battery industry is built into the Exide for your automobile. When you need a new battery or when your present battery no matter what make it is needs repairing, let an Exide Service Station be helpful to you.

The . story that Archimedes, the Edison of Syracuse, burned the Roman galleys besieging that city.
by concentrating on the sun's rays with mirror-lenses. Is doubtless a fairy tale. Nevertheless, the ancients before the time of Christ did use glass lenses to make fire. One of these "burning glasses" was recently dug out of the ruins of Nine-vah.
