THE dog war has started in Gary. The city is infested with homeless curs and orders have been Issued by Chief Forbls to the two newly appointed dog catchers to pick up all vicious and otherwise canines not muzzled. The critical time of a woman's life usually comes between the years of 4a and 50, and is often be-" set with annoying symptoms such as nervousness, irritability, melancholia. Heat flashes or waves of heat appear to pass over the body, cause the face to be very red and often bring on headache, dizziness and a sense of suffocation. Another annoying symptom which comes at this time is an inability to recall names, dates or other small facts. This is liable to make a woman lose confidence in herself. She becomes nervous, avoids meeting strangers and dreads to go out alone. Lydia E. Pinkham's Vegetable Compound is especially adapted to help women at this time. It exercises a restorative influence, tones and strengthens the system, and assists nature in the long weeks and months covering this period. Let it help carry you through this time of life. It is a splendid medicine for the middle-aged woman. It is prepared from medicinal roots and herbs and contains no harmful drugs or narcotics. Text-Book upon "Ailments TOO CARE LOWEST PRICES 152 E. Mrs. Irene Leone. St. Valentine's day is supposed to be lovers' day, but it was anything but that for Mrs. Irene Leone, according to her testimony in her divorce suit. KLOBUCHAR

TLIVE Andrew Klobuchar, now a real estate dealer of Indiana Harbor, must first live down hla record as a i saloonkeeper before he can become a citizen of the United States. John l'ora, another real estate dealer of the same place Is still In doubt as to whether he Is a Roumanian or an American. I That old business of keeping saI loons open on Sunday still rises to haunt former liquor dispensers when they apply for full citizenship. Klobuchar was a citizen once. He managed to get by without the government agents finding that he had violated the Sunday closing laws. Then one time he appeared In court as witness for another saloon man. He told what a fine fellow his friend was. The examiner asked him if his friend had ever kept his saloon open on Sundays. Andy said he guessed he had, but that he waa no different from all of the saloonkeepers. The examiner then asked Klobuchar if he liad always kept his .saloon open Sundays and Andy replied iri the affirmative. That was his bad luck. The examiner then took the proper steps to have Andy's papers revoked. In
