FANS SET Kouts. Ind., is all "het up'.' over tomorrow's liijf game with the Hammond K. of C.s, and if the weather is at all favorable a considerable irowd is expected to make the trip with the Hammond team. Owing to the Ions trip, the distance to Kouts and return being about SO miles. Manager Ileimbach has decided not to hire busses for this occasion, but instead he has engaged several big touring cars w hich will make the journey a much more comfortable one for both fans and players. The fare tor the round trip by machine will be $1.40, which is slightly higher than the bus rate, but considering the difference in comfort of liding in a touring car and a motor bus it will be well worth the slight additional amount. All fans who wish to accompany the team and have not as yet- made their reservation are requested to phone Hammond 31S3 and get in touch with Manager Ileimbach just as soon as possible. There will be cars enough to accommodate at least fifty fans, but the best way to be assured of a seat in one of the machines is to make your reservation for the trip in advance. Everybody who cares to go is invited along, as it is the desire of the management to have a good hig representation of Hammond fans in the stands at the start of the game. All machines will leave the K. of C. club rooms on East Sibley st. promptly at ll:30 A. M- so all fans and players are requested to be on land between ll:00 and ll:l5 A. M. so that they can be all set and ready to go at ll:30 sharp. The Kouts team is all loaded up for tomorrow's battle as they are determined to hand the K. of C.s a trimming and thereby wipe out their defeat by the Hammond Colo; nials earlier in the season. Being out for revenge on Hammond, they can be counted on to present their strongest possible lineup in tomorrow's tilt, especially in view of the fact that the K. of C-s had such an easy time of it with the strong owell American Legion club last Sunday. Manager Ileimbach will probably start the same lineup that he opened with against Lowell, except that "Larry" Hilbrich will do the pitching and Sug Handy will be back at his old position In center field. The batter fouled the ball and it poped under my chin,' strik ing my Adams Apple with sufficient force to disable my chatter during the rest of the contest. That was the only time I was over laid out in a ball game and I hope the veterans do not pick on me Sunday." Otto Green will attempt to oust a few candidates at first, with Davis. Crbanskl and Chayken assisting in the infield. The outfield has numerous players with the probability that Tague. Eggebrecht and Benny Gloza will start the contest. The Hammond squad now numbers seventeen, but after Sunday's game several will be allowed td go elsewhere, as Legion officials figure that fourteen players are enough to carry on any semi-pro club. The largest crowd that has ever witness- 1 ed a baseball contest in Hammond is expected to watch the two Legion nines in action. Roy Mltz 10 TAKE ON The Colonials travel to Gary on Sunday to take on the fast Umpleby team at Gieason Park, this being the first game of the season for the Gary team. They are hiring a band ! and will have a galla time in the iit ( I city, the management says they are going to put their strongest team in the field to try and pull the Colonials down a notch, but will have some time in trying to do it, for Bakalar and Simon are in the best of condition, as so is Hess. Hammond fans are going over strong to pull for the home team. There sure has been a lot of paste boards sold for this game, as it is going to be the first real game the Colonials have been In since their trip to Kouts, and it should be a whale of a game. Colonials lineup will be: Babe Simon, 2nd haae; Ed. Bloom, ss.; Meyers, 3rd. base; Frank Simon, r. f. and pitcher; Barman, 1. f.; Smith, c. f; Kennedy, c. t.; Babin.l 1st. base; Hess, catcher; Bakalar,' pitcher. Newman, S28-J for said date. : FORESTERS ARE OFF The Hammond Foresters, who run up such an enviable record last season, will meet some real opposition when thc-y stack up against the North Side A. C. next Sunday at Douglas Park. After a brief training season ir. which they defeated many local '.earns, they are In fine fettle and rarin' to go. They surely demonstrated this in their last two starts when they beat Griffith A. C. 17 to 2, and Bet down the Hartwell Colts 5 to 0. Despite many rumors to the contrary, Freddie Moll will again be seen in a Forester uniform. Moll pitched half of each of the last two games and was only nicked for threo blows In the two combots. Moll is a vastly improved performer and with the Foresters' well known hitting power behind him, he should have no trouble in running up an impressive ttring of x-ictories. Besides being a pitcher of no mean ability. Moll is a slugger and no pitcher has ever kept him from get-
