' never aim for anything I can't hit,

and my fight with Georges Carpentier has been the aim of my life. I am certain I can l.lt Carpentler hard enough to beat him, and I will, too. Georges says that a good big fighter Is better than a good little fighter, and I reply with ample evidence at my disposal that the time is past when, good little fighters

were always beaten by good big

fighters. Carpentler Is the best fighter at any weight In Europe. He is quick aid plucky and has an excellent knowledge of ring craft. His right hand punch Is deadly, but he has only a right hand punch. Carpentler can rightly claim the light heavyweight championship ot Europe. I think I can claim the light heavyweight championship of America by virtue of the fact that I defeated Boy McCormick, who had beaten Levlnsky when he was Indisputably light heavyweight champion of AmericaCarpentier will weigh In 164 pounds. At the most I will weigh 154 pounds. Therefore, there will be only ten pounds difference between us, which is negligible. I am confident that after next Thursday night's fight, I will be the world's light heavyweight champion. I will watcn George's good right hand; but he wants to watch both of mine.

less California grapes. . Two diced pears. Six dates cut fine. 1 Whip one-quarter pint cream nearly stiff. Add six soft marshmallows cut in small pieces and whip until stiff. Mix with the above fruit. Serve on lettuce, garnishing with a maraschino cherry. You can omit grapes, or substitute diced pineapple for same, also using canned pears- (four halves) in place of fresh fruit, and all with equal success. Very nice for luncheon, evening party or afternoon tea served with thin cut bread sandwiches.

NOVEL TOWEL RACK. When the dishes are done and tea towels and dish cloths are to dry, use a small umbrella frame, opened, hung on a hook above thekitchen range. When not in use the frame can be closed and hung in a closet. It is especially useful in small apartments. One can use it for other drying also. It is nice to enamel the frame white.
