EMERSON STUDENT REPORTED MISSING John 'Watson, 15-year-old Emerson student, who moved to Gary with his parents from Hammond a month ago, is reported on the missing- list. His parents state thnt he left home at 5 P. M. Wednesday and they have not seen or heard from him since. Inquiries made at Emerson disclose the fact that he has not attended school for four or five days.

The mysterious death of Miss Gertrude Hanna whose body was found on a ledge in the basement of the United Presbyterian parsonage at Hoopeston. 1 11., continues to baffle police. John

BODY OP MAIV FOWD . The 'body of a man believed to have been dead since April 13, when he laid oft from work, was found in the bunk house of the Pennsylvania car sfhops, Indiana Harbor, yesterday afternoon. His name is Tom B. Kane, age 60 years, employed as watchman for a number of years at the Pennsylvania car hops. Presumably dead for twenty-two days, the body of Kane was In a deplorable condition, distorted and colored. During an Inspection of the yards and shops yesterday by officials of the Fruit Growers Express Company prior to this concern taking over the Indiana Harbor Pennsylvania car chops, the body of Tom J. Kane was found locked in his room. He is believed to have contracted pneumonia and Isolated from onyone in a room In the bunk house at the shops, died without a person hearing his moans of distress. . On, April 13. according to the statement of watchman F. E. Richardson,, who found the 'body, Kane laid off from, work complaining that he ihad a bad cold and said that he waa going to Chicago to visit his brotiher, Martin J. Kane. It being a common occurrence of watchman Kane to leave the shops for 3 an 4 days without returning, officials did not regard his absence with much apprehension. Wlien he did not return within a week. It was concluded, raid Richardson, that Kane had taken sick and was staying in the city with his brother until he had recovered from this sickness. The body was taken to the BurnsMoGuan morgue where the inquest. In charge of Dr. L. j. Ostrowski, deputy coroner, was held.

Mr. Hyman's address dealt with the conducting of local chambers and making their relation with citj'. state and national governments felt. Having been connected as an executive with Chambers of Commerce in all parts of the country for a number of years, Mr. Hyman was able to make some very Interesting suggestions. Musical and vocal numbers were rendered by Mrs. Paul Fishel, Mrs. C M. Jackson, Clough Leighter and Miss Cornelius Seelfeldi Miss Seelfeld was winner of the Silent Booster -award contributed by C. B. Sharp, superintendent of the Harbison Walker company. The prize was a gold fountain pen and pencil.
NEW MOONSHINE RAIDS A rapid succession of moonshine raids were made in Indiana Harbor last night by officers Kirrln and Kekioh ot the Harbor police force during which the sponge quad made four arrests and brought in their full measure of home brew. In all, there were five tables at which five hundred was played, the prizes going to Mrs. W. Hogan and Mrs. F. Collins, members of the club, and Mrs. Luther, Mrs. C. V. Smith and Mrs. Kltchie, the guests. These were Mesdames Luther, Rooney, Smith, Newton. Mecaio, N'orria, Brandenberg and Speec.y. A dainty two course luncheon was served by the hostess. The last general business meeting of the Indiana Harbor Woman's club was held Wednesday afternoon at Katheran House. Splendid reports were griven by the different department chairmen, also from the budget and history committee chairman and he report from the district convention. FOR RETURN GAME In an attempt to redeem themselves, the Club nine have secured a return game with the East Chicago fire fighting team for tomorrow afternoon. According to Jeff Bowers, the Club boys only had two of their regular players in their line-up when the fire team defeated them last Sunday. He promises to glv the victors a surprise tomorrow.
