The Calumet Cambrian society will hold their regular meeting Saturday evening at'the East Chicago Congregational church. There will be the regular business and entertainment with social hour and lunch, with Mrs. H. E. Jones as chairman of the lunch committee. Mrs. Mary Hill is very low at the home of her sister, Mrs. U W. Giles on 144th street. Mr. and, Mrs. Frank Williams are In Detroit this week attending the Amalgamated Association convention. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Evans were called to Cincinnati to attend the funeral of Mr. Evan's father. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Hart are entertaining the former's nephews, Don H. Rankin and George E. Miss Sadie Stirling:, who had her tonsils removed Sunday, Is not getting; along- as her friends would like to see. She suffered a hemorrhage last night which was difficult to stop. She is reported to be resting quite well this morning. A number of Indiana Harbor O. E. S. members are expecting to attend East Chicago -chapter this evening. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Dooley left this morning for Milwaukee, having been called there by the death of a brother-in-law, Victor Xoland, who leaves a wife and two little girls to mourn his loss. Mrs. Orland Johnson, of 421J Baring avenue, underwent an operation at Mercy 'hospital, Cary, Tuesday. She is getting along as well as could be erpected, at this writing.
