NEW SEA MONSTER HOOKED FROM PACIFIC INTERNATIONAL NEWS SERVICE
LOlS ANGELES, Cal., April 22.!
Blase fishermen were astonished and learned professors shook their heads in bewilderment with the capture of an unusual species, by the crew of a fishing craft off Long Beach. The monster measured 17 feet long and It weighed 1,500 pounds. The capture was made about eight miles from shore and required several hours to land. Captain Ray Palmer, skipper of the fishing boat Music, the crew which landed the monster
had just baited and lowered his . line when the fish swallowed the hook, ibalt and part of the line. ! For three hours the crew battled '. 1 with their prey and It was not until after they had shot the fish
with a rifle that the members of the crew were able to bring it ashore. The mysterious monster has a wide, cavernous mouth, containing what appears to 'be an extra set of ribs, in addition to its regular set of teeth.
