LEGION'S SPIRITED MEETING Plans for tho greatest activities since the organization of the East Chicago American Legion Post were laid at the rnee-ting of Its members held last evening In the city hall. It was without a doubt tho largest meeting and congregation of exservice men yet assembled here for tho purpose of perfecting a local American Legion Post. Besides electing officers for the ensuing year, plans were made to visit every soldier's grave in the disti:t cemeteries on Decoration Day. May 30. Members of the Post were deligated to attend tho meeting of the Spanish American Veterans that Is to be held In the city hall Sunday afternoon. The Xgion Is offering the co-operation of the local Post to lay wreaths over soldiers' graves on Decoration Day. Service men and their families who are having any difficulty in insurance or compensation matters, are requested to write the Post commander, Peter H. Bent, American I-eglon. Vice-Commander Roy McVeigh. Secretary Wm. H. Martin. Treasurer A. JT. Given. SNYDER TO GRILL VIOLATIONS. Rev. D. Emmett Snyder of the Christian church of Indiana Harbor will address his congregation on Sunday evening on "Do the Christian Folk of the Twin City propose to standi for boot-legging, open dives, houses of ill-fame, gambling and moonshine." This is one of a series of sermons to be delivered tomorrow evening during the revival services of this church. "The Flowering of Sacrifice" will be the theme of the Easter sermon tomorrow morning at the First Baptist church of Indiana Harbor. The hour is 11. The floral decorations will include offerings in memoriam by Tarious individuals. At the hour of evening worship, 7:30 the Toung People's choir wi!l sing and the pastor will preach the last of the series on the Prodigal Son. the theme being, "The End of a Perfect Day." At 6:30 the Toung People's socleties will hold their Easter services. Miss Pechous of Chicago will lead the seniors and the music and the various parts will emphasize the Easter theme. The service of the intermediates will consist largely of music. The parents are especially Invited. Mr. Leroy Bevan will lead. The Sunday School meets at 9:45 and will study the lesson of the Resurrection. Have you the Resurrection life within you? Seek it while it may be found. The revival meeting now in progress at the Christian church on Grapevine boulevard Is attracting large audiences. Friday evening a large delegation from the Marks subdivision attended in a body. Delegations have been coming from Hammond, "Whiting. East Chicago. Hessvllle, Griffith. Crown Toint and Gary. Rev. D. Emmet Snyder, the evangelist. Is at his best and preaching some powerful sermons. He never fails to strike out from the shoulder at sin in all forms. ; Twelve persons have already observ the gospel in tho two weeks and, j from the Interest being shown, the meeting will reach a wide scope for the Lord. The music is one of the great features of the meeting. Et. ery night there is a chorus of twenty voices singing and an orchestra of ten pieces assisting. Soloists, both vocal and Instrumental, render special selections at all services. Sunday morning there will be a special Easter program at tho opening of the Bible school, 9:45. Sermon. 11:00 "The Resurrection." Sunday night at 7:30 Evangelist Snyder has announced that he will use as his subject. "Do The Christian Folk of Lake County Propose to Stand for Bootlegging. In the evening, "As It Began to Dawn." by Coombs; and "Ye Bells of Easter Day," by Dressier, and a "Violin Obligata by Mrs. Taylor, will make this service an excellent one. Tbe Sunday school will met at 9:30 and Epwortlx League at 6:30. The music department of the East Chicago Woman's club will meet Monday evening. April 24, at 7:45 at the home of Mrs. Harry Bloomberg on North Qlcott avenue. The subject is "Carmen," and a fine program has been arranged, in which Mrs. W. F. Funkey and Miss Anderson of Gary, Mrs. Frank Stephens and Mrs. George Summers of Indiana Harbor and Mrs. Bloomberg will take part.
