more than her share, Mrs. Joros tday had a complaint for divorce filed in the superior court at Hammond by her Attorney, W. A. Fuzy of Kast Chicago. Mr. and Mrs. Joros were married at Yisk, Hungary, In September, J.90S. They came to the X.nited States a fv years Inter. Time and again, she says, her husband has choked her and bent her. One time when she was ill with typhoid fever he came home drunk, dragged her from bed mauled her almost Into unconsciousness. Only a few days ag-o La struck her down with a poker. For years she has been forced to work away from home in order to supply herself and the children with food and clothing-. Part of the time she worked In factories. She did family washings and she washed dllies at the Gibson Y. M. C. A. Nearly every day slxa walked three or four miles t'i work. And then -when shs would return home with, her money, the husbami. who -was alwavs Intoxicated, would take the money from her. His treatment forced their ifou,rteen-year-o!d son to leave home. She asks for $2,000 alimony, the custody of two minor children and an allowance for their support. She also wants a restraining order to prevent him from interfering with the family.

GIVEN INSTRUCTION

Gary police officers are to receiva Instruction In the proper procedure of appearing as witnesses In cases, given lessons in city ordinances and other Instruction necessary in police work in the future, according to a plan mapped out by Chief of Police W. A. Forbls. The first of the. series of meetings to be held for instructing officers of the department was held in "the court room at the city hall last night and was well attended. On account of the day and night men, the department will he divided into two classes. Members of the Gary Bar Association will give evidence in future explain lng the proper procedure of presenting evidence In cases in which officers of the department appear as witnesses for the stats. Officers of the department will ali5 receive Instruction pertaining to the various city ordinances which will soon he codified. "From time to, time they "will also be given other instructive data pertaining to police work," said Chief Forbls this morning. "These classes will not only help enlighten the officers in the various subjects but will tend to bring the men together." George M. Pinneo, physical director of the Gary T. M. C. A., who accompanied the American wrestling team to the Olymphic games and nationally known in athletics, has been appointed reteree for the "Western Intercollegiate wrestling championships to be decided at Madison, Wisconsin, on Friday and Saturday nights of this week.

MARY LACKEY WANTS DIVORCE Charging that Henry Lackey falsely accused her of committing adultery with one Eliga Rome, and then In spite of her protestations, drove her from home, Mary Lackey asks the court for a divorce and J500 alimony. Mary says the accusation' was absolutely untrue and without foundation.

CHARGES DESERTION IN SUIT David Harmon was made defendant in a suit for divorce filed by his wife, Rhoda Harmon. J. II. Rapier filed the suit for Rhoda in the Gary Lake superior court. The plaintiff charges that her husband deserted her.

STANDARD REALTY COMPANY IS SUED The Standard Realty company of Gary was made defendant in a suit filed by Joseph Bayer In the Gary, Lake superior court. The suit is based on promisory notes which are alelged to be due Bayer. Three hundred dollars and costs is asked for by plaintiff.

JUDGE WELLNER SUED Suit was filed against Henry Wellner, Gary Justice of peace by the Tayo Trading company of Chicago. The plaintiff charges that Wellner owes $221.49 on a promissory note given In exchange for merchandise. The wilt Is filed in the Gary Lake superior court.

TEN YEARS OLD; ARRESTED FOR THEFT Ten year old George Zfkrlcla, Gary's youngest criminal is being held by the Gary Juvenile authorities today as a tool thief. Ha was captured last night by Alex Emikis in his garage at 1646 Madison Ktreet in the n-:t of stealing some tools. The lad had also 5-tolon some sausage from Emikis's sausag-o factory next door. ?

He intends to "warn other boys.' "My one desire is to lead a christian life and to help others," said the man whose craving for feminine companionship led him into one marriage after another without formality of divorce. "I always wanted to enter the ministry," he declared. "But I know they won't have me. 1 will he an evangelist when I get out. I am yolng to warn the other hoys."
