March 17 and 18, that it will oome from the teams that are expected to win th1r contests at the regional urney, at rurdue University, March 11. Fans generally are choosing: a southern high school quintet to take the laurels at Indianapolis, Vincennes being mentioned at the team most likely to win.. Close followers of the game are pointing out. however, that Anderson's schedule does not seem to contain the hard games that must be played by Vincennes. Two likely opponents of Vincennes, according to dope, are Bloomlngton and Franklin, on Saturday morninff and afternoon respectively , while Anderson might play Columbus and Garfield of Terre Haute or Whiting. The fact that Franklin does not play Saturday morning, and meet Vincennes that afternoon nuM) that the present state champs will be much more rested than VJnceaBOS. Working along this line of "dope,'' It would seem that if Anderson a rid Vincennes were cast together In the Coal game that the odds would somewhat favor the Anderson five. General favorites to win their games at Purdue Saturday are: Angola to win from Goshen; Anderson to win from Pine Village; South Whitley to win from Atwood; Marion to win from Huntington; Frankfort to win from Jefferson of Lafayette; Rochester to win from Cutler; Whiting to win from Decatur; and Wingate to win from Fishers. Dope is easily upset in this tournament, however and followers of every one of the sixteen teams feel certain that their team win win the game that it plays. DODGERS CH

UP TWO

BY LARRY GEORGE. In their second encounter of the season Coach Pat McShs ne's fast East Chicago Dodgers slipped the strong Hammond N E. Comets two more black eyes in their aspirations to county honors. It all happened last Thursday night, March 9, 1922, at the Irving gymnasium. The Dodger lightweights with Duffy, Curllnovich, and Friberger plunking them in from all sjigts of the court and with Polock setting a fast pace in guarding and parsing, were too much for the Comet lights to handle. The short, snappy parses of the Dodgers bewildered the Hammond outfit. The final store was 20 to 10. Fowler and Evans were the chief polnt-netters for the Comets. The wind-up of the evening proved to be the champagne of the entertainment. Fast and sparkling with the unexpected it put the large delegation of rooters into ecstaciea of eacitement and hope. At the end of the first half the balance of score inclined slightly In favor of the Dodgers with the board reading 8 to 6. The timekeepers' whistle announcing the beginning of the second half brought the two teams out with all ALL SAINTS TRIMMED. Thursday night at the All Saints gym the Calumet A. C. Jr. defeated the All Sainta C. O. F. to the tun of 1S-15. The game was hard fought and worth coming miles to see. They were the Lake county 130 pound champions and this wa tho first same they lost this season. The game was started at t o'clock with a snap, neither side making1 a basket for about five minutes, then a foul was called on Paulson and the first basket made, soon after Paulson made a foul shot which evened the score, then Steimer made a field goal and from then on the Calumets never lost the lead, although the All Saints were in hot pursuit. Score first half, 9 to 8, Calumefs favor. The second half started off as usual, both teams oo-ifldent of victory but as the final score shows the All Saints lost with which may go the championship title. In this as in other games the opposing teams had a real problem to face, the two guards. Slat and Mike W., coupled with the center. Palmer, and two forward Paulson and Stelner. the team was undefeatable. Saying nothing of our mascot. Willie Paulson, whose volco overwhelmed the crowds, thus putting- more pep Into the Cainmet Jrs.
