mlttee. This club has been asked to write a history of this section of tha state, to be read at the state federation meeting;, Mrs. J. W. Brlssey belne appointed chairman of this committee. Mrs. Richard Corrette gave a report from the budget committee. Invitations wer read from the Chicaso Woman's club for Saturday afternoon and from the Hammond "Woman's club to attend their daughters' meeting Haturday evening. Next in order was the wonderful cheese demonstration by the J. L. Kraft Bros, of Chicago. Their cheese was rarebit, cheese sandwiches and cheese, gotton up in many different ways. These formed the lunch which was most generous and palatable and much enjoyed. The ladles were loud in their praise of both Mrs. Wheatcraf t's splendid talk and the very fine demonstration of cheese products. The next meeting will be held In two weeks at Katheran House. The card party given Wednesday evening at St Mary's hall, by St. Elizabeth's Aid was well attended and much enjoyed. Those winning prizes in Five Hundred, ladles' first, Miss Esfelle Rell; second, Mrs. John Block: men's first, William Huber; second, Frank Forbeck and in Fantan, ladies' first, Mrs., Broderick; Mrs. Charles Kruhn, and Mr. Mukin. Light refreshments were served by the committee In charge. Mrs. W. E. More entertained the United Presbyterian Missionary society yesterday afternoon at her home on Ivy street. Monday evening is the annual past presidents' meeting of the East Chicago Woman's club. This meeting will be held in the community room of the Methodist church at the corner of Chicago rid Baring avenues. A general meeting will precede the evening program, of which Mrs. J. D. Kennedy, past president. Is chairman. Pr. McCllntock of the Chicago university, will be the speaker and will take for his subject, "The Social Usages of Laughter." There will be musical numbers of Mrs. M. A. Given. All members of the club are invited to bring their husbands and friends and help make this a good meeting by being present. Mr. and Mrs. Percy Roberts of Chicago avenue win entertain at dinner this evening in honor of the former's mother, Mrs. J. W. Roberts' birthray.
The guests will include the Roberts family, Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Roberts and Mr. and Mrs. Henry Petersen and daughter Doris.
