The evening- hour department of the Hammond Avian's Club pave a very aeliffhtful and successful dancing and card party Wednesday evening in the Iviffhts of Pythias Halt. Hancing was enjoyed In the bai! room, prettily decorated with hearts and cuplds, and an excellent musical program was furnished y lAelmn's orchestra. Delicious punch wa-s served between dajices. On the second floor, bridg-e, Ave hundred and pinochle were pla3-ed progressively, and twelve interesting prfzes were given the holders of hit;h scores. During; the evening-, a. very enjoyable program waa griven by the pupils of Miss Geraldine Swanson, Instructor of dancing- in the Hammond Masical Col. Shaffer of Clark's Hill, Ind., is the house gruest of her son, J. C. Milliken and family of Hyde Park. Mrs. Shaffer formerly lived in Hammond and baa a great many (friends here.
